Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Soap in the mail

🌲     🌲
8 degrees this morning when I left the house a little before 7:00.
There was no wind at all and the sun came out.
The warm sun felt wonderful on my face.  🌞

Started my walk walking on the streets behind my house.
 The morning moon. 🌕
It was another random walk all over town.  Walking in my snow sneakers
with ice grippers takes me a little bit longer.
The shoes are heavy and even though the ice grippers work good
I still have to watch carefully where I walk.
The ice under the snow can be really slippery.

These shrubs by the library remind me of cupcakes with frosting on them.
The Rolling Pin Bakery on the main street in town I am happy to say is
still doing a great business.
This morning was one of the days they bake donuts and it
sure smelled good walking past.  🍩

Didn't see any people or animals, just lots of tracks.
A bunch of deer tracks were all over our back yard!!

Walked 5.2 miles
🌲     🌲
Got supper started in the slow cooker and made banana pancakes for breakfast.

I got a package in the mail today from my friend Dianna.
We were blogging friends and realized we didn't live that far away
from each other.  So we met and have become 'in person' friends too.
She sent me a card and some of her wonderful homemade soaps
when she found out I had the flu.
Thanks so much Dianna.
I love my new soaps.
After lunch I went outside and scraped the ice off the driveway
that was left from yesterday.

Looked through some magazines and cut out some recipes to try.
Got the magazines from the library yesterday.
They were throwing old ones out and they were sitting in the lobby with a
sign that said free.

That's it for today.
Count your blessings and have a happy day.

Today I'm thankful for:
  • A walk in the sun
  • Banana pancakes for breakfast
  • A package in the mail from my friend Dianna

You have the best days! I believe it must be your walks as I feel so much better when I begin my day with one. Much, much shorter than yours, but still, it all counts.

Glad to hear that the cute little bakery is still doing well.
What a lovely surprise to receive in the mail. Very thoughtful of Dianna and so nice that you are now in person friends.

When I saw the pictures of the shrubs by the library I thought the same thing before I read your comment about them reminding you of cupcakes with frosting. :)

I'm delighted to hear that the new bakery is still doing a good business. Every town needs a bakery. I wish our area had one.

I'm so glad that you like the soaps, my friend. I always enjoy sharing with you. xx

I get a video game magazine due to a Gamestop discount card. I opted for the digital as I hated throwing away all that paper

How sweet of your friend to send you that homemade soap. You're a better gal than I, I wouldn't have been able to walk past the doughnut shop after smelling them baking inside, LOL.
