Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

Warmer but more snow

⛄     ⛄
Well it did get warmer and I did get to go on my normal morning walk,
but it was snowing again.
The temperature was up to 33 degrees and there was a bit of a wind.
I left at 6:45 and wore my snow sneakers with the ice grippers on them.
Was a bit limited where I could walk because of the snow piled up
on the sidewalks.  Not having on my snow boots I couldn't walk around
the cemeteries either so I just walked around on the side streets.
It sure was nice taking a morning walk again.

Didn't see anyone else out walking,
but I did see lots of animals tracks of deer, rabbits, and some
small animal which I think were squirrels.
Walked 5.8 miles
⛄     ⛄
First thing after breakfast I got some chili started in the slow cooker
for supper tonight.

I had some apples sitting around that we didn't seem to be eating,
so I thought I use them up and make some Apple Crumble.
I'll have that tonight for my snack instead of ice cream.
Or maybe I'll put a bit of ice cream on top of it.  That sounds even better.

Finished the latest puzzle of the wolves howling at the moon.
I'm sure I'll have the next one started before long. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Count your blessing and have a happy day.

  1. You did well to walk so far in the snow!
Apple crumble tastes so much sweeter with a scoop of ice cream!

  7. I'm so glad you were able to get out but it looks frigid. Love the wolves. I work a puzzle on my Ipad every night and play one game of Solitaire. It's fun and keeps you sharp. We hiked today but it was 74 here. Felt good to get out on the trails. Wish we could walk together. Enjoy your evening!

  9. Mrs. f.G. Got me a puzzle, but it's huge, difficult, and with very subtle shades of colour. I fear it's going to take me months!

  11. The snow is really pretty but even the few inches we had here combined with ice makes it difficult to walk. So I applaud your effort to get out there and do that many miles. Wow!

  12. It seems like the biggest snow season you’ve had since moving there

    1. I think the first year we were here we had more snow, it would snow a foot at a time. I remember walking in the snow in the back yard and it was thigh high.
But the winter has just begun.....

  15. Yummy, maybe I'll make apple crisp today! That's a neat puzzle. I'm working on one titled Christmas in the City. Really more a winter scene. I'm at a point where it's a little more difficult but I might finish today. Too bad we don't live near each other so we could trade.
