Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Morning geese

A warm 43 degrees this morning and sunny with a bit of a wind.
I wore too many clothes and was quite warm.
Walked my usual walk all over the place around town.
LOTS of geese on both the pond down by the Drane house
and also on the little pond in town.
I stopped to watch some of the geese come in for a landing on the thin
coating of ice on the pond.
They would go sliding across the ice.  Looked like fun.

Thought this cloud looked like a bird in flight with it's wings spread.
Walked 6 miles
⛅     ⛅
Went out to the Shop and Save to pick up a few things.
Then made supper for a church member who is sick.
We are all taking turns cooking for her and her family.
David went up to the house site to do some work with Ken.
They came home for lunch bringing sandwiches from the
bakery/deli in town.
 They brought me one too.
Turkey on wheat bread.

Then back out they went with the dump trailer in tow to the stone
place to get a couple loads of stone for the basement in the house.
Once they get that done and level the concrete floor can be poured.

Walked over to the library and picked up another two books
that were on hold for me.  Now I just have to find the time to read them.

This evening we are going to the Pie and Praise service at church.
Thanksgiving week we have a service on Tuesday and instead of the usual
prayer meeting on Wednesday.
Pastor kept hinting for a blueberry cheese cake so that's why
I made one yesterday.  I'd never made one before and this turned
out looking delicious.  I'm hoping to eat a piece tonight!!!

A happy day to you.

I am thankful to live in a small town.
It's nice having people know you when you walk down the street.
And it sure is nice not having traffic lights. 😊

Those hints are a good inspiration sometimes. How nice that you were included on the sandwiches. Those geese might just outnumber all of us! Great shot of the clouds that have wings!

I grew up in a small town called Sonoma in California. The town was involved in the recent Napa - Sonoma fires. We got a stop light in the 60's and everyone had to go down and see it and drive through it! Small towns are the best.

Hello, love the geese and the bird shaped cloud is cool. I would rather live in a small town than a big city. I am a 15 minute drive to our nearest town. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!

WOW...so many geese...I just love seeing them fly in formation and hearing them honk along the way! Enjoy that Thanksgiving pot roast!

Couldn't resist having a look at your blueberry pie, looks and sounds delicious. Being nearer to the sea now I get to see more seagulls flying around. When the sun catches them they shine brightly against the grey clouds.
