Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Twins

Linking up with Eileen for Saturday's Critters.
Took this picture last Sunday morning on my walk.
It was a bit foggy but lucky to get the twins both looking at me.
🌻     🌻
A cloudy morning today for walking and 66 degrees.
Walked behind my house and then walked over to the industrial park and walked around there.  No one around there on the weekends.
Stopped in at the laundromat to take down the church flyer now that
 Bible Time is over.

Walked a loop around town and then the ball park loop once.
Stopped in at the post office to take down the flyer there too.

There is a town wide yard sale happening today and I counted 8 of them
just on the main road getting set up as I walked by.
Didn't stop at any of them.  I need to get rid of stuff not get more. 😊

Walked 6.1 miles
Found a penny, only second one this month so far.
🚶      🚶
Ken went up to Happy Trails to move some more rocks around up at
the house site.
I stayed home and got a couple of loads of laundry done.
Took a chance that it wouldn't rain while my clothes were on the line.
I got lucky, no rain and my clothes dried.
It ended up being a beautiful sunny day in the high 70's
with a nice breeze.  Perfect weather I'd say.

Finished reading The Triumph of Katie Byrne by Barbara Taylor Bradford.
I thought it was good but a bit drawn out.

Continued working on the Baby Blanket for a while this afternoon.
Also spent some time outside doing a bit of weeding.
Weeding came to a sudden end when I accidentally dug my shovel into the ground
and must have disturbed a yellow jacket nest.
A whole bunch of them came buzzing around and I was
stung three times on my right hand.
Ouch, it stung a bit but thankfully I'm not allergic.
But I was finished weeding for the day.

For supper I made one of my favorite meals.
Sweet and Sour Chicken.

Life is Good
A happy day to you

  2. Your weather indeed sounds perfect, as we are under a heat wave, with no relief in site! beautiful photo of the doe and her twins! Sorry you got stung, and they do hurt, and cause swelling! I once stepped on a yellow jacket and thought It would never quite hurting, needless to say I didn't get much sleep that night! Thanks for sharing your day, have a blessed weekend!
    Blessings,

  3. Oh, I have been stung by yellow jackets more times than I care to count. But I think I have only been stung by one at a time! Thankful for that.

I have not hung a single load of clothes out this years...because Roger has so many allergies, I am trying to avoid bringing in any of the pollens, etc. But hanging clothes has always been one of the greatest pleasures.

  9. Oh, I'm sorry about the stings. Yellow Jackets are so aggressive and mean. Just today several of them found the hummingbird feeder and have been chasing the hummingbirds away. The deer twins are adorable. That really is a great picture.

  10. I hope that the painful stings have healed. I am very nervous around yellow jackets. I've been stung many times when I thought I did nothing wrong, but had clearly violated some yellow jacket rule of etiquette. The picture of the deer is great, almost ghostly.

  11. Oh no, that's a rude and painful interruption to your weeding. I hope your stings have healed up by now.
The twins are so cute and you got a good picture of them.

  12. Ahhh...just minding your own business and those vile yellow jackets came out of a nest in the ground. Who dealt with them after that?

Your weather does sound very pleasant. All it does here is rain. Profoundly wearisome.
