Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Happy Flag Day
🐝     🐝
This morning the temperature was 67 degrees and it was cloudy.
No special route, just walked all over town in no particular order, don't think
I could even trace my exact route.

I saw 6 other people out running or walking.  That is the most I have ever
seen in one morning.
Lisa was out running.
Two woman were walking who I see once in a while in warm weather.
Rebeca was out walking her dog.
Mike was walking.
Kathy was out too and I walked with her a couple of times around the ball park loop.
I told her about the coloring group at the library and asked if she'd
like to join us but she doesn't like to color.

Once in a while I see a couple of blue birds at the one cemetery
and today was one of those days.

Walked 6.2 miles

Finished reading The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson and must say it
was not one of my favorite books.  I thought it was boring and didn't like it
and admit to skimming a good part of it.
Didn't even go to the book club meeting tonight which is happening right now.

I made some weave-it squares this afternoon and sewed two strips
of them together for the next baby blanket I'm making.

It was supposed to rain but no rain came by late afternoon and the plants and flowers
looked like they needed a good drink.  So I filled up the watering can
many times and walked around watering things.

I made the new recipe with the asparagus for supper and it was pretty good.
Tomorrow I'll put the recipe with picture up on my recipe blog.

Hope your day was a good one.
A happy day to you.

I love that picture of the flag and the wagon wheel with the fence across the street. Well, the dogs and I walked for half an hour. Well, Faith ran, while Samson and I walked. We both need to get back to it to get stronger.

Hi Karen!
I liked that book but my bookclub didn't love it.

...I see the flag often, but often not correctly. Years ago as a Boy Scout we learns flag etiquette. I wish everyone did.

Always enjoy your posts...just the every day things. I think we don't really appreciate them till something happens. It poured the rain here for a few minutes late this evening...

Good morning, love the flag and sky/sun shot. I have been known to skim a few books too when they are boring. Happy Thursday, have a happy day!

Crazy question....how do you time your walk to always land on 6.2 miles? That's very interesting to me...LOL (crazy mind of mine) Love the picture. HOPE you have a terrific Thursday!

Disappointing when a book isn't as good as we hoped, but onwards to the next one. Perhaps the nicer weather is bringing more people out, it's such a good way to start the day xx

Hi Karen - Thanks for your comments about that book. I have it on my "to read" shelf and have started it a couple of times and always decided to read something else, so maybe I will pass along on it for good. I have been super busy and am not in blog land very much, but love popping in to see how you are doing and say hello! Have a a great Thursday!

I love seeing the Stars and Stripes flying proudly!

I love seeing the flag flying! Not many in my son's neighborhood unfortunately. I am so impressed that you walk that far every morning. I hope I can get my knees and legs in good enough shape to be able to do even half that! Have a blessed day.

Good quotes, reminds me of sharing the truth with love. A lot of love and respect has been lost by mankind. 67 is perfect walking weather. Nice to see more people out and about. Our rain came late, I had already watered the container plants. They are so needy!

Gorgeous photo! I am shocked that you were so brutally honest about the book. 😉
