Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

In and out

🐞     🐞
This morning when I left the house on my walk it was 42 degrees and sunny.
So nice walking in the sun.

Walked all around town, both cemeteries, the ball park, and behind
my house on the roads.

It was very quiet around town for a Monday, felt more like early
Saturday.  Didn't see anyone else out walking or running.

Down at the pond by the Drane house the mother geese and her
goslings were walking around in the grass.
Wasn't able to get a decent picture of them.

The usual rabbits were hopping about the cemetery.
I love these sunny, blue sky mornings.
Surprised more people weren't out enjoying a walk.

Walked 6.2 miles
🐞     🐞
Ken headed up to Happy Trails right after breakfast.  I really
wanted to go but did have stuff I wanted to get done around home.
In the morning I got 2 loads of laundry out on the line,
and some house cleaning done.

I quit working at 12:00 and had some lunch.
Then went outside to work in the yard.
Everything much to soggy yet to mow the lawn but I did get some weeding done.   Worked on the garden in front of the house to the right of the porch.
Didn't quite finish but feel I did a good amount of work for the day.

It was a sunny day and though I was warm when working,
it was still cool in the shade.
Perfect weather for working outside.

Ken came home suggesting that since we both worked hard today
it would be a good day to go to Brenda's for half price pizza.
I sure didn't say no to that!!  😊

This little reddish squirrel as been showing up in the yard lately.
It's a tiny thing, not much bigger than a chipmunk.
Hope your day was a happy one.

Todays quote I got from the book I'm reading Farriers Lane by Anne Perry.

"It is easier, " she replied frankly, "and often more emotionally
satisfying to be mortally offended on behalf of your God than to
serve Him by altering one's style and manner of life -
and in a short space, it is certainly much more comfortable."

You both did earn that pizza! Glad you had a nice day to work outside. I am headed back out when I finish here to dig up several more Hosta. They are getting entirely too crowded in that bed. I want to just put one back in it.

Have a great evening.

...it was cold and windy this morning, but warmed up nicely. I have a hard time taking pictures of squirrels, they move too fast for me...wonderful shot.

I love the looks of that sky.
The weather and the somewhat soggy soil sound ideal for pulling out the weeds. It always feels good to get that job tackled. Most definitely a well earned pizza today.

I hope you enjoyed that pizza!
I wonder why it was so quiet out on the walking routes today. Hmmmm. Sleepy mothers?
