Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking Outside

🍀     🍀     🍀
So nice to get up and not see snow falling from the sky.
14 degrees, no wind and the sun came out.
So nice be outside walking and feeling the sun on my face.

Got a picture of the killdeer by the pond.
Not a very good one because I had to zoom in.
Brrrr he must be cold standing in the water.
Walked around town, but since there were lots of icy patches I
couldn't walk down all the roads so just walked where it wasn't so icy.
Avoided the main street in town and walked on the side road out of town
and up Sale Barn Road.
Up Sale Barn
At the top
Walking back down
Back town and walked the roads behind by house and then back home.
No one else out walking.
By the time I got home in was is the 20's.
Walked 6.2 miles

Ken is gone for the day so I'm just puttering about the house.

I got my new Striiv in the mail today.  My old one is still working but I just
wanted to get another for a spare because I'm afraid they are going to stop
making the kind that I like.

It's been a pretty nice day with clouds and sun and I wandered
about the yard a bit
but by supper time it was snowing again.

A happy day to you.

I'm so glad that you were able to walk outside today. I know how much you enjoy that. I think that the killdeer are so interesting to watch...love their long legs. We had several snow showers late afternoon and evening here, but there isn't any accumulation from it. The first time I noticed it was when I was on the treadmill and happened to look outside! Just a bit longer, my friend, and it will truly be spring.

Hi Karen - good to be back in blog last and hear what is going on with you. You really had quite a snow storm. So glad you got a new striiv. I am using a Fitbit now and quite like that. Same basic thing - counting steps. Beautiful pictures of the snow. We are up to about 96 here today, so it is nice to see scenes of snow and cooler weather. Have good weekend.

Enjoyed walking with you today. It's not as refreshing as being out there with you, but not as slippery either!

So glad you were finally able to walk outside. We have been enjoying sunny, milder weather here the last couple days. Actually walked with no hat or mitts yesterday.
Love all your photos especially the Killdeer. They are hard to get a photo of aren't they?
Have a good Saturday!
