Side Yard. Those are my footprints in the snow. |

Icy and cold, so as expected, once again got my steps walking inside.
We saw lots a bright sunshine throughout the day and it just clouded up
later in the afternoon.
Chris gave me this blue and white plate that was Aunt Betty's
which will go in my kitchen above the cabinets with the other plates.
Pretty isn't it?
The other thing that was Aunt Betty's that I brought home is this basket.
Many years ago, maybe 30, I was visiting my mother and the two of us,
Aunt Betty and a friend of my mothers went over to another of my mothers
friends house and we all made baskets.
I don't remember what happened to mine but
seeing the basket brought back happy memories of the day.
It is the perfect size for magazines and that is what I'm using it for.
Did a quick cleaning and straightening up around the house
and then just puttered around doing this and that.
A happy day to you.

Winter Wonderland by Joseph T Renald
There are strange and mysterious sounds
When the winds of winter blow,
The long nights are crystal clear and cold,
And the fields and meadows are covered with snow.
The stars are frosty against the sky,
And the wind's whistle is shrill
As the snow blows against the house
And drifts against the hill.
Yet, I like to see during the winter
A white carpet on the ground,
To plod aimlessly in the deep snow,
Where deer tracts abound,
I like to feel the stillness
Of a crisp winter's night,
Watching a full moon rise over the horizon,
Exposing a winter wonderland beautiful and bright.

Just caught up with your cold snowy posts. The pictures are beautiful and I love that poem. Sure wish I could put my thoughts on paper...describe things, like in the poem. It's so pretty.
That plate is pretty. I'm a sucker for blue and white plates. The basket is nice, too. Enjoyed reading Winter Wonderland.
I have been trying to turn the plate's motif into a birdhouse, but it just won't cooperate. That poem perfectly describes this winter's night right down to Venus shining in the west and the moaning of the wind. What a great basket!
That blue sky and the snow covered trees make spectacular photos. That plate is lovely and so is the basket.
Both the plate and the basket are beautiful, Karen! Just one more plate needed to fill in the space?
Thank you for the poem about winter!
Beautiful pictures, Karen. I love that plate and basket you brought back from your Aunt Betty's. Special things that bring back good memories. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
...blue and white sure looks nice.
This is a lovely blue & white themed post! Your basket is perfect for magazines!
it is a pretty plate
Hello, the blue sky and snow look pretty. Love the beautiful plate and basket. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
Hi Karen, it is wonderful you have the basket and plate from your Aunt Betty's. Lovely remembrances.
Love the photo of your side yard. Very pretty.
We are getting much snow now too. We did get out for a walk this morning as the town had cleared the roads and sidewalks very well.
Have a good weekend!
It is so nice to have some family keepsakes - they bring special memories.
I do like the words from Joseph T Renald
Happy Weekend
All the best Jan
Your photos of the snow are beautiful, I'm definitely a little envious. The plate is lovely xx
