Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

and the snow continues...

⛄     ⛄     ⛄
This morning it was 31 degrees and snowing.  A day for my snow sneakers
and ice grippers.  I guess I was getting over confident having my ice
grippers on and thought I couldn't fall with them.
Not so, today I fell even with them on.  Still have to be careful for each step.
Fell on my wrist and it is a bit sore now.  Just glad I didn't break it.

Walked on the streets behind my house and then up and down all the
streets in town.  Once again trying to avoid the snow plows.  The big plows
do the main road and then there are a bunch of other pick up trucks with plows
attached that do the side streets and parking lots in town.

Didn't see any one else walking.  Buses were out so school was on time today,
though the roads and weather seemed worse today.

That's a crow up there
Walked 6 miles
Found coins for the month of January
2 dimes, 5 pennies
Can't find many coins when the ground is covered in snow.  ⛄
⛄     ⛄     ⛄
Thank you all for the prayers, cares, and kind words for my mom.

Just puttering around the house today not doing much of anything.
Every time I pass by the window I stop to watch the snow falling for a while.
So peaceful and pretty.

Ken has been painting some little people to go on his train layout.

Managed to meet and exceed my challenge steps during the month of
January on Walker Tracker.
The challenge is to walk 15,017 steps each day this year.
I am in 4th place out of 56.
Walked 34,236 over the challenge amount.

A happy day to you and a smile from me to you.

Glad you are OK though I understand the soreness of a fall on your wrist!
The snow falling is a lovely peaceful sight as you say! We haven't had any snow this winter and I don't know if I should be grateful or disappointed!

Oh Karen, so sorry you fell! Thank goodness you are alright.
We received a bit of snow too but most of it melted because we actually had SUN today.
I loved Ken's last train video, his little people are so perfect!
Have a good evening!

Hello Karen,

I have thought about your mom several times today and prayed for her each time.

Well done, You, with your walking! That is amazing. I'm certainly sorry to hear that you fell today though. I'm glad your wrist wasn't broken. I've done that...no fun. ;-)

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

That much snow would close our schools. We can't seem to get a flake! Those people are so tiny. That is some delicate painting.

I did a bit of skidding about while cleaning the yard of the snow that fell on all that ice...man! It's treacherous out there. Hope that alternately icing and warming your wrist will make it feel better. I know that you don't like having us all worry about you, but we do! Okay, just had a thought...leaving YOU in God's hands, too.

Ken's little people are quite the task...lots of them, aren't there?

I'm so sorry you fell! I can't imagine walking in conditions like that but I know you take precautions. Love the tiny people! I would rather stay inside and paint people! heehee! Have a good night! Hugs!

You really are a trooper in the steps department! So glad you didn't break your wrist when you fell. I've had some 10,000 step days this week and I hope to keep going with those and increasing them, too. Blessings!

The snow is pretty. Ice can be so dangerous.

So glad you didn't break anything in your fall. You are much more dedicated to walking in adverse weather than I am for sure. Wow your hubby has patience for sure in painting those little figures.

Hi Happy-K. Be careful out there. Glad you didn't hurt yourself with the fall. You have strong bones from all that walking, I bet. Impressive challenge. I seem to average about 12,000 steps a day. Working basically consumes from about 7AM to 5:30PM of every day
