Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Saturday

⛄     ⛄     ⛄
Still some snow showers around but not amounting to anything.
It was 10 degrees this morning but again with all my layers on I wasn't cold.
Wore my snow sneakers with the ice grippers today.
Some places are cleared of snow so didn't need the higher boots.
Walked around town on no particular route.  Where I walk depends on the
conditions of the roads and sidewalks.
Only one horse out that I saw and it made me smile to see
the snow on his nose.
Didn't see any one at all out and only a couple of cars early this Saturday morning.
Walked 6.2 miles

Took the Book Store puzzle apart but didn't start a new one yet.
I'm sure I will in the next day or so though.

We had lunch today at Subway.  I always get the turkey sub.

Did a bit of ironing this afternoon and as usual I watched an
I Love Lucy Episode, Lucy Wins a Race Horse.
📖
Finished reading the last book in the Left Behind series today,
The Glorious Appearing.
The series was good but a bit drawn out.  Could have been told in just a couple
of books I thought.
At the very end of the book it says this:
"Only by entrusting your life to Jesus Christ can you avoid being left behind.
As we end these 12 volumes of the Left Behind series,
we do so reminding you of the passion shared by both Tim LaHaye
and Jerry B Jenkins:
that if you have not asked Jesus Christ to be the Lord of your life,
you would do so now
and if you are already a Christ-follower that you will recommit
yourself to sharing with as many people as possible the
eternal hope found only in Christ"

📖
It stayed cloudy today and the temperature only went up
a couple of degrees.

Time to go and get supper together.
Making one of those big salads with all kinds of things in it
that we like so much.

Hope you're staying warm where ever you are.
A smile from me to you.

That's just about enough snow to enjoy & walk through! Sweet horse standing out in the cold!

Beautiful snow pictures! Amen - Jesus Christ is the only hope for any of us. Hope you have a good Sunday. See you again soon.

Lovely photos again Karen. We received a dusting of snow today so our grass is finally covered.
Since you mentioned some time ago that you watch "I Love Lucy" while you iron I do too! It helps make the chore seem better. I am not a fan of ironing!
We were quite cold here today too.
Oh, I made your Raisin Scones today. Great recipe! Mine are no where near as pretty as yours but they taste good!

You truly are a walking inspiration. I even did a little ironing today...so rare around here. May God lead people to repentance and a new life with Him. Have a wonderful Saturday evening and Sunday!

I love it that you watch I Love Lucy when you iron. I watch an Andy Griffith episode. :)

Your pictures are beautiful as usual. :) I especially like the one of the horse with snow on his face.

Your salad sounds really good. Do you have a favorite dressing that you use for it?

Stay warm and safe!

Beautiful photo leading off the post. Just lovely.

We even had some snow here overnight, but not like yours! It's a rarity here, so everyone is excited about even a small snowfall. It's the bitter cold temps that aren't fun! Down to 7 degrees tonight!!

Enjoy that salad!

You'd think something called Left Behind would only last one book instead of 12. Left behind, still behind, very behind, okay they forgot about us.

I have never read that series. My son loved it, though. You may be finished with the genre after reading so many books, but have you ever read anything by Joel Rosenberg? He likes those, too.

It is very cold here and it doesn't look any warmer there. Blueberry pancakes sound yummy. I am going to have to learn to be willing to cook for myself. I had Rice Krispies for supper.

Oops...you didn't talk about blueberry muffins here. I got lost as I had some catching up to do.

Well, I'm staying warm inside, but it was certainly a cold one outside today!

The first picture is exceptionally beautiful.

I think that your snow photos are beautiful, but I'm so ready for the white stuff to melt a way. As I type this, outside we are getting another layer on top of what we already have. Yesterday it got down to -5 so I don't see it going a way anytime soon. You're so brave to walk in this stuff . . . be careful not to fall.

"The Glorious Appearing" is my favorite book of the series. I have not read the whole series - only the prequel "The Rapture" and "Left Behind". There is actually one more book in the series called "Kingdom Come" dealing with the millenial reign of Jesus. I think it was my least favorite of what I had read. Have a blessed day.

Hello, pretty snowy scene. The horse is pretty, maybe he needs a coat to wear. It is 34° this morning in Florida. Enjoy your day and the new week ahead!
