Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The birdhouse

Birdhouse in the fog yesterday,
today it is snowing.
⛄     ⛄     ⛄
This morning when I walked it was 32 degrees and there were on and off
snow showers.  At first it was calm out but then the wind kicked up a bit.

Walked all over town up and down the streets and once again
around the cemeteries and the ball park loop.

Everything was pretty with a light coating of snow with the look of
someone sprinkling powered sugar over everything.

The town pond and the road you see there, I'll be walking in just a bit
up to the cemetery.
Very quiet again and didn't see any one else out walking
though Farmer Marvin came by in his truck while I was going up the hill
to the cemetery and stopped for a little chat.

Walked 6.5 miles
Found 3 pennies
👟     👟     👟
Packed up a box to send to my Mom and after we mailed it we
headed up the road to Grantsville to do a few errands.
In the hardware store bought another bird feeder which I got for 1/2 price.
This one is supposed to be squirrel proof.  We shall see.
Stopped in at Goodwill and looked around but didn't find anything.

Back home again I made another batch of Welsh Cookies for the sale
next Saturday.  Now I have 4 dozen done with one more to go.
Each batch makes 2 dozen so the last batch we get to keep a dozen. 😊

Worked on the puzzle a bit more and it is coming along slowly but surely.
Read some too.

Pizza dough is being made now in the bread machine and when that is done
Ken will make us a pizza for supper.  It's been a while since we've made
pizza and this is a perfect evening for it.  Cold outside and warm
and cozy inside by the fire.
🍕
A happy day to you.

You ask, quietly to borrow it.

Hello, I like the before and after shot of the birdhouse. The pond scene is beautiful. The pizza for dinner sounds yummy. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend

I so enjoyed your snowy scenes today. It puts me in the mood for my current job of Christmas decorating.
I hope your new bird feeder really is squirrel proof. We bought one a few years ago that made that claim and to our surprise it is true.
Homemade pizza sounds scrumptious. Enjoy!
Thank you for your very kind comments the other day, Karen. Made me feel so good. I appreciate you so much!

Love the contrast in the same scene. Hard to believe it's just a day apart. Take care walking in the bad weather. You are truly an inspiration!

I love reading your post (though I may not comment every one). They are so interesting and natural. They feel like a scene from a Halmark movie at times.

Hi Karen, I love your first two photos. What a difference a day makes.
We no longer have pennies here in Canada. I found a nickel and dime a few days ago as we were walking and of course thought of you.
Funnily enough tomorrow I am heading out to purchase another bird feeder I saw advertised.
I hope you Mom is doing alright.
Hmmmm... now you have me thinking of making a pizza tonight for supper!
Have a lovely Sunday.

Lovely cold scenes. We've gotten colder here this week. I enjoyed your penny story for Sunday and the fact that you got more then you asked for. Now I want pizza and cookies! Have a lovely week.
