Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Out with friends

🐄     🐄     🐄
32 degrees this morning at 6:35 when I left the house for my walk.
It was a clear morning with no wind and it wasn't long before the sun
came out and warmed things up.

I walked the streets behind my house and then around the ball park loop.
I happened to look in the woods and saw a deer as she was getting up.
She blends in so well I almost didn't see her.
I think this plant is a dried money plant but not sure.
It is green in summer and has purple flowers on it.
Walked through town.  This is where the sidewalk ends.
Walked up Barn Sale Road to see the cows then down the main road
toward HT a ways.  Turned around and went back to town.
Walked around both cemeteries and then home.

Walked 6 miles

Went out with some friends this morning to a shop called Whispering Pines
which is in Spring, PA.  I've been there before but didn't realize how close it
is to my house, only 16 miles away!!!
I was kind of out of the way for them to pick me up so I went in my car
and met them all there.  There were 8 of us.
We roamed around the store for about an hour and a half.
A few pictures of the shop.
Betty is there on the right and Tricia is hidden behind the stars.
I bought a few little things.
There was a little cafe in the shop where I would have liked to eaten lunch
but I was voted down and we all went to Casselman's back in Grantsville.
It was nice there too though and I enjoyed having a nice lunch out
with friends.

I was back home a little after 1:00.
The day really warmed up and it felt more like summer.
I did some work in the yard.  Cut down more dead flowers and tidied
up the yard.  When Ken got home we loaded up the back of the pick up truck
with the things I cut and some left over leaves.  There is a place in town
where you can dump leaves and weeds and that is what we did.
We have a pile of yard waste in the back of our property but there is a LOT
of stuff there now.  We could always take it up to HT but this was closer.

So that's been my day.
A happy day to you.

Hi Karen, what a lovely day you had! We are having the same weather as you. Cool first thing in the morning then it warms up nicely through the day. I like all the things you bought at Whispering Pines. Looks like my kind of store!
Have a great weekend!

So pleased you caught the deer looking up and were in time to snap a lovely photo!
The store would be worth a visit as I love the items you brought home, especially the stars!

Love your first picture of the cows, but so pleased you were able to get a photo of the deer and yes, doesn't she blend in well.

Always nice to meet up with friends, glad your day was a good one.

All the best Jan

Stopping by to say 'Hello" and to wish you and your family a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving! I love shopping sprees with family and old friends this looks like a great shop!
Great photos of the cows, I am hoping we will be able to buy some soon, maybe this time we will get some that will stay in the fence and not roam the woods, the last time they stayed gone for a week, we finally hired a cowboy to go in the woods and round them up, yes this really happened, Dh sold them the next day!LOL!
Love,
Sue
