Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Baking Day

🌾     🌾     🌾

Nice and cozy and warm in bed this morning and didn't get up right away so got a late start walking at 7:15.

A chilly 20 degrees but not with that wind from yesterday.  It was cloudy but the sun was starting to peek through the clouds when I got home.

Walked behind my house on the couple of streets up that way and then continued on through town, around the cemeteries and the ball park once again and then more around town and finally back home.

The man who walks his big white dog was out walking and one other woman was walking but no sign of Kathy again.  I think she may be traveling for Thanksgiving.
Walked 6 miles

It is Tuesday and we usually go bowling but we skipped it today.

I stayed home and did some baking.
Baked two Honey Breads and three Pumpkin Breads.
House smells heavenly.

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving we go to church in the evening
for a Pie and Praise service.
We all bring a favorite pie to share.  I'm being a bit different
and bringing slices of Honey Bread and Pumpkin Bread.
We have an informal service back in the fellowship hall.
We share testimonies and things we are thankful for.
It is always a fun time.

A happy day to you.

Give me one thing more, a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise."

No snow here, just lots of rain. I haven't heard of honey bread, I wonder if it's something my daughter would like xx

Brrr! It does look pretty but but chilly outside! I'm sure your bread will be very well received and I would enjoy the service!

The Pie and Praise service sounds lovely Karen. Hope you enjoy it.
We had a much more pleasant walk today too with no wind and bright sunshine.
My baking day was Sunday. Electricity here in Ontario is cheapest on the weekend so I try to do most of my baking then. Will you be posting your recipes or links to them?
Love the milkweed pod photo!😃

Your evening service sounds like a great idea and supports the true meaning of Thanksgiving. I'm jealous of your snow. I love it and will be going to Illinois in Dec and looking forward to some snow time of my own.

I like the name of that church service. I'm curious to know why you decided to bring bread instead. I know that the breads you made will be delicious. I'm also curious to know what honey bread tastes like. Is it like honey wheat? Okay, I will stop being curious now. :D.

You sure take a nice long walk. We have nice enough weather to work in some hikes now but I need to get back to walking some every day. I like the name of your church service too. And I baked some today and plan to make yeast rolls tomorrow. Enjoy your evening! Hugs, Diane
