Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A waiting duck

🌼     🌼     🌼     🌼
It rained over night but by my walking time it had stopped and was just foggy.
Temperature was 48 and very still so it felt quite warm.

Walked to the post office first to mail a letter and then
went around the ball park loop and the two cemeteries.
One of the cemeteries is up a hill on a dead end road
aptly named Cemetery Lane.
What is funny is that there is a doctors office along the road.
Today when I walked past the doctors office there was a mallard duck
standing at the front door.  Looked as if he was waiting for the office to open.
On my way back he was still standing there.

I thought this leaf was interesting looking.

I walked down toward Happy Trails before turning around and
heading back to town and home.

I saw a rabbit over by the post office.
Lots of crows over by the town pond.

Didn't see Kathy but I did see her parked car.  We just walked different
routes and didn't run into each other.

Walked 6.2 miles
Found a penny

Finished reading my book club book this morning.
Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier
A friendship between Mary and Elizabeth develop
as they hunt for fossils on a beach in Lyme, England in the early 1800's.
I thought the book was okay, nothing special.
Certainly not a page turner for me.

Ken and I went up to HT for a little while and picked up some tools
that we needed to use back at the house.
The fog got thicker throughout the day and then started to rain
so we couldn't do anything outside.

Posting a bit early today.
Going to make supper in just a bit.
Then I'll walk over to the library for the book club meeting.
Ken will pick me up and then we'll head off to church.

A happy day to you.

The duck really does seem to want in to see the doctor!
The trees in the first picture look so wintry already!
Have a great day!

What a great photo of the duck! I wonder what he was doing there.
Hopefully you return to some nice weather soon. We sure are enjoying ours.
Lovely quote today. We just need simple things to get through our day!

Maybe that duck has an appointment. Too cute and too funny. If anyone can get that woman to lighten up, it's you, Karen. Knowing you, I think you must smile at her.
