Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

No Ice Cream

🚜     🚜     🚜     🚜
56 degrees this morning at 6:20.
Walked around town under the street lights until the sky started glowing and then walked the Farm Loop.

Those crazy goats 🐐 over at the dairy farm were climbing on some farm equipment today while the chicken 🐓 watched.
Saw a doe and her two fawns run through a soy bean field
and a rabbit 🐇was just sitting right in the middle of the road.
I chased him out of the road.

I didn't see the sun come over the mountain until 7:15 and then the rest of my walk was sunny and cool.  A beautiful morning.
Walked 6.2 miles
Sunrise 6:57
Sunset 7:28

Bowling Day
10 of us bowing today.
With 10 of us it took quite a while to bowl 3 games.
I had a good game, an average game and a bad one.
But still it was fun.

Food shopping afterward for us at Walmart as usual.

I finished reading the book, A Thousand Acres by Jane Smiley.
About a family farm in Iowa.
Started out good and I liked the first half of the book.
Then things slowed down and got it really depressing.
I had read half of it though and wanted to see how it ended.
Has a any one else read this book?  Did you like it?

This doesn't happen often in our house but we have run out of ice cream.
BUT there is zucchini bread for our snack later.

That's been my day.
A happy day to you.

If you had leftover chocolate zucchini bread from that recipe you posted a short while back, I wouldn't need ice cream to be happy! Still have that written down to try. Looked so yummy.

I haven't read that book. You remind me of myself and Poppy when it comes to ice cream. Rarely do we run out. We watch for Turkey Hill to go on sale. :)

Hello, I love the goats climbing on the equipment. I have been downloading ebooks to my ipad from my local library, they have a nice selection. No ice cream, time to go to the store and stock up. Have a happy day!

Uh Oh... no ice cream? That is hard to believe :). Zucchini bread sounds like a good substitute until the freezer is re-stocked.
I have not read the book.

No ice cream? Now that is just sad. I'm sure you'll be getting out today for more. I've not read the book you mentioned but I've read one like it. I read "Maria" by Eugenia Price a long time ago. I wanted to read it because it was based on true happenings in St Augustine. It began as good and got so depressing later on. I pretty much trudged through the book to the end and was so glad when it was finished! That goat is quite a showman. The chicken is smarter staying on the ground just watching!

Oh my goodness! Isn't it a sin to run out of ice cream? LOL

Beautiful walk -- early morning is good for finding special things -- but I've been bad about getting up early lately. We don't keep ice cream in the freezer while we are in Oregon because our town home is just two blocks from a great locally made icecream store ... we walked there last night after dinner (its only us two old people, no kids, so we figure if we really really want ice cream we can at least get a tiny bit of exercise to go get it).

Cool goats! I've not read that book but think I will pass.
Run out of ice cream? Now, that's a crisis! ;^)

The goats near my house are extremely boring. They just stand and stare
