Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Before and after haircut

🌾     🌾     🌾     🌾
This morning I left a few minutes earlier than usual at 6:20
and it was still dark out but with a glow in the sky.
It was a warm 69 degrees and later there was a mix of sun and clouds.

Walked up the hill behind my house, then though town and up Barn Sale
a little ways, and then down toward HT before turning around
and walking back through town and around both cemeteries and
the ball park loop.

The cemetery is just up ahead there.
On the way I stopped and picked a soy bean pod and opened it up and set
the beans on this post at the entrance of the cemetery.
I think a bird comes and eats them because I've been doing that
for days now and the beans are always gone the next day.
The people that live in this cute house have finally picked the color
to paint their door.  You might remember a few weeks back I posted a
picture of the door with about 5 different color choices on it.
I would have picked the color they did too.
I love the door and the color.
Rebecca was out walking her dog and she was the only person
I saw walking.  Everyone else I saw waved to me from their cars, trucks and buses.

Walked 6.5 miles
Sunrise 6:53
Sunset 7:35
🚶     🚗     🚙     🚌
I stayed around home today while Ken went up to Happy Tails.

The only work I did was to wash the sheets.
Did some reading.

Finished the weave-it baby blanket I've been working on.
Looked at my self in the mirror quite a bit trying to get used to the person I see there now.
Feels strange having such short hair.
I think I like it.
I'm not crazy about posting these pictures but here goes.

Ken is getting his hair cut as I type this.
When he gets back we're going to the Green Turtle for supper.
🐢
A happy day to you.

Hello Karen,

So much has been going on around here the last several months, so I've not had opportunity to read here on a daily basis. My father-in-law went home to be with the Lord 4 July, we've had our granddaughters here with us a week in August and there has been a lot of canning of veggies going on here, too. Then Carroll fell off our roof on Wednesday, so we are going through the recovery process which is probably going to last about 12 weeks. We are so grateful to the Lord for His blessings and for the things He will teach us through Carroll's fall.

Anyway...I just happened to check your blog a few minutes ago and saw your pictures! Oh, Karen, I really like your hair cut. You have the perfect sweet face for such a cut. I could never get by with it because of the shape of my face, but you pull it off beautifully!

Hugs,
Dianna

And your new haircut really suits you!

I think your hair looks great! It didn't take you that long to let your color grow out.
I agree about that cute house! What a fun color scheme.

Your hair looks cute, both long and the new short cut. Interesting how you leave those beans on the post and they are gone each day when you return.

I really like your hair cut! It is such a cute style for you! I love the little house with the new paint on the door. Looks so cozy and nice. That is a cute little blanket that would probably be just right for a little boy! Have a great weekend!

Thank you for showing us your new haircut. I LOVE it. You wear it well.
I got my hair colored one week ago and already today I see the gray roots taking hold. It is a never ending roller coaster. I may one day decide to get off the roller coaster too.
As you might be able to guess, I like the door color. I also like the rounded top of their door. How cute!

I always enjoy my visit, you are so energetic . . . I've stop walking because I lost my walking partner . . . she works for the school district and went back to work. Do you have any motivational advice for someone who needs to be more comfortable walking alone?
Your hair cut is adorable . . . light and perky . . . it looks more athletic, like you :)
Have a lovely weekend!

Good morning!:) I like your new hair cut.:) Thank you for revisiting and telling me what the hanging thingy is. The reason I asked is because I saw two whilst on holiday in the Algarve, and thought they may have been punch bags for exercising, but somehow they looked out of place in the country. Now I know what they are for, it makes more sense. Have a happy weekend.:)

Oh, mercy, I LOVE your haircut...you look younger. I have a tendency to let mine get a bit too long, but FINALLY broke down and got a professional haircut last week, too....felt like a new woman. LOL I ALWAYS love your pictures....sometimes I just scroll back to just look through them. HOPE you have a great weekend.

Beautiful haircut! I had forgotten you were growing out your gray. It looks really pretty. One day I'll be as brave as you!

I have to cut my hair soon too. I hate long hair (even though my long is short compared to others) especially in summer

Karen, the new shorter hair cut looks wonderful on you. Very flattering. Keep it.

I have to agree, the short hair suits you. Surely the colour is silver not grey? I can't wait until my once blonde hair lightens back up again which it is doing naturally from the front and with a little assistance from the ends in my toned down ombred hair. Like the door colour too.

Love your new "hair-do" - I got mine cut short this year too and I think it's so much easier to take care of. Darlig quilt you made. I like the color of the door too.

Hello Karen ...
As you may be aware I've been away and am only just catching up with my lovely blogging friends.
I knew I'd missed your haircut - so have looked back on all your posts.

I will not comment on them all, but I've thoroughly enjoyed reading them all and your photo's are just so nice to look at too.

I do like you with shorter hair. I always find shorter hair so much easier to manage. Lovely photo's and thank you for sharing them.

All the best Jan

The new do takes off a decade. Truly looks fabulous. You are just a kid! I didn't know that you had let your natural color grow out again. I wish mine would get to my new color sooner than it is...so drab my faded brown.
