Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A cool morning

Farmer Marvin moving logs
🚜     🚜     🚜     🚜
The chillest morning so far this autumn, 40 degrees when I started out walking.
Once the sun rose it was sunny but later clouded up.

Went first to the laundromat and then the post office to take down
the church event fliers that I had put up a couple of weeks ago.

Then continued my walk all over town, no special route today.
Took this walking up Sale Barn Rd.
There are a couple of old houses on the main road in town
slowing going back to nature.
This one now has bushes starting to grow inside the window.
Didn't see any people about today.
One little rabbit was at the cemetery.
Pretty quiet around town.
Walked 6.5 miles.
🚶     🚶     🚶     🚶
Home for part of the morning and then we went out to get a few errands done.
Had some lunch while we were out too.

In the afternoon Ken went up to Happy Trails and I had to stay home and get some things done around the house.

I put some Hot Italian sausages in the slow cooker this morning.
Then for supper I cooked up the bell peppers from our garden
with a couple of onions.  Then added the sausages for just a few minutes
to get them browned and that was our supper.
Ken's dad used to make this for me because it is one of my favorite
meals and I always think of him when we make it.  : )

A happy day to you.

Lisa - Actually what you thought was a 'corn field' is cattails around the little town pond with mist on top of the water.  : )

Sometimes a cool morning can be so nice ... I like your photo.

I always think that if you put up fliers for an event it is important to take them down afterwards and as you say you went around to do this. Unfortunately not all Communities are like that ... and towns seem to be even worse!

Your meal sounds nice and lovely to use your home grown bell peppers.

All the best Jan

We had a nice cool morning here in Tennessee as well. It was a nice change from all the heat we've been 'enjoying'. Your sausage/pepper/onion supper sounds delicious.

Thought-provoking quote from Tolstoy! Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had a chilly morning. Our low was about 47. It was a bit brisk when we went out this morning for a run--probably in the 50s by then. The thing is, running we have to wear t-shirts or else we'll get overheated. So, at the start of the race it can be quite chilly, until we're warmed up. By the end of the run, I'm roasting. You probably notice some of the same walking.

Slow cooker meals are awesome! Glad you had a good day.

Sad when things go into decline.I'm sure there's someone out there that would love to do it up.
Have a great Thursday :)
