I walked down the road, across the bridge and over the water, and walked to town. Walked up the main street in town passed a couple of houses for sale and then turned around and came back to the house.
Not sure what kind of duck this is but I zoomed in to take a picture.
A friendly place around here and most all the cars that pass wave to me. A couple of people were out in their yard and I called out a greeting as I walked by.I'm glad that I was able to get a nice walk in here this morning.
I walked 5.8 miles.

We've been at the nursing home today and really haven't done much else. It is hard watching dad get weaker and weaker.
Hope all is well in your world.

Sorry to hear about the physical and emotional struggle you have to go through with your Dad.That is indeed a very hard time. The duck in your picture is a Common Loon.WOW! I would have jumped for joy at a sight like that.
Karen, I know that what you are currently going through is not only draining physically, but also emotionally. We are dealing with the same thing with my father-in-law. We are grateful that he can be at home with 24/7 care. You are in our prayers. I believe I may have e-mailed you about it a month or so ago. I am blessed to know that your mom is content and settled in there at the nursing home. (((hugs)))
I'm not sure what kind of duck that is either
So glad you're able to get out and walk while away from home....walking is great for stress, which you're under right now. Prayers for all you're going through.
praying for you
I know you will find an inner strength to see you through these difficult days.
Saying a prayer for you.
Your photo's are lovely and I'm glad that you got a good walk in.
Love the duck!
All the best Jan
Hello, I am glad you were able to get out for a walk. I am sure it helps you. Your duck is a Common Loon, cool to see one on a nest. Sending my prayers and hugs!
Your presence is a great comfort, I know. Prayers, sweet Karen.
Hope your walks give you strength; so good of you to simply be there for them. Surprising to see a Loon nesting in a populated area!
My heart goes out to you. I know what it is like to go to the nursing home day after day and watch a loved one fade away.
It's quite exhausting to watch the ones you love suffer.
Your photos are stunning.
Wishing you a restful weekend :)
I enjoyed your NY walking photos. I know it is so stressful right now for you. I'm glad you are still walking and enjoying the outdoors. Praying for you.
I know what you are going through Karen. Thinking about you and your family.
Looks like another great area to take your morning walk.
Praying for you all to know
Gods hand upon you to carry you through.
I'm glad you still get in your walks. It is so hard to watch those who took care of us when they no longer care for themselves. Big hugs! I thought that might be a Loon, and saw another commenter confirmed it. I've never seen one in real life!
Thinking of you all during this difficult time! Love your LOON!!!
Someone else may have posted, but it is a common loon - one of my favorite birds, by the way. I am glad you got to make the long trip back up.
