Last evening my step-dad passed from this world to his new home in Heaven.
Ken, I, Chris and Vickie were all with him when he took his last breath.
We were singing hymns as he went to meet his Lord.
Though we are so very sad that he had to leave us
we are comforted knowing that he is now in no pain
and enjoying life in Heaven.

That is sad news because he will be missed by you and your family. But knowing he's healthy and with our Lord gives us peace and comfort. May the God of ALL comfort hold you close like never before.

What a blessed way to pass with you all there and singing hymns. It sounds as if you were on holy ground. I know that you will feel sorrow, but what joy to know that he is well and whole and younger than we are! God bless you, my friend.
I'm so sorry for the feelings of loss and emptiness that inevitably come. It is good to know that our loved ones aren't actually "gone." They are in another place, and reunion will be a sweet day! May God's Spirit comfort you.
