Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Monday

Thank you all again for all the kind words and prayers.  They are much appreciated.

Walked over the causeway and around by the lake and around the 2 mile block this morning.  It was  cool and sunny and great weather to be out walking.

I walked down the road with pine trees on either side of me and it smelled like Christmas time.  I love the smell of pine.

Those little squirrels with the red tails that we have back at our house are around here too.  I got pretty close to this one.
Thanks to those of you who identified the loon sitting on the nest a couple of days ago.  The day after I took the picture I was walking there again and a woman was there taking a picture.  She told me that the nest was put there by the town and it floats up and down on the water.  Everyone one was so happy when a loon decided to make it her home and to lay her eggs.

Just walked 4 miles today.

We are tying up loose ends here in NY and are looking forward to getting back home.

Hope your day was a happy one.

Hi Happyone, I know you are looking forward to getting back home. Have a safe trip. The loon photo was so cool. I think that may be the first photo I've seen of a loon on the nest. Thanks, as always, for sharing.

I'm sure your walk this morning was good medicine for you with the sadness of your step-dad passing. Holding you and the family up in prayer.

We have those red tail squirrels here in NC too! They are smaller than the grey ones it seems.

I haven't seen a red squirrel in years, since we lived in WV. Interesting about the nest the Loon calls home for now.

I love the smell of warm pine straw in the summer too. I've noticed it lately, especially in my chicken coop. It reminds me of my childhood and going to camp in Georgia. Glad you saw such beautiful things in NY.
