Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Thursday

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
Only 18 degrees this morning but there was no wind.  The sun tried to come out and I saw it briefly at first but then it was just cloudy.  My feet were a bit cold the first mile but they warmed up after walking a few miles.  It was unusual that my feet were cold.

I walked the Farm Loop.  I was thankful for no wind out in the open because it can get a bit nippy along there.

Spotted quite a few Robins here and there.  I was hoping to get a picture but they didn't stand still long enough.  I told them they missed their chance to be on my blog. : )  I don't think they cared!!

This house has been empty the 2 1/2 years we've been living here and I sure do wish someone would fix it up.  Seems a shame to let it fall apart.  There are a few houses in town like this.
Once I got back to town I made a quick loop around town and around the ball park loop before going back home.

Walked 6.2 miles.
Found the first coin of the month - a penny.

Home today doing this and that around the house.  I've started reading Drums of Autumn, the next book in the Outlander series.

After RK mentioned that she looked at her grandmothers house on google I looked up my grandma's house there today.  Oh my it was so sad to see her house.  It is big but there is no longer a front porch and the whole house was redone and no longer even looks like the house.  It is pretty run down and the yard is neglected. All the lilacs are gone.
I'm happy that in my mind at least it stands as it once did. : )

As we left for Brenda's for pizza it started snowing!  Don't think it will amount to anything though.

Hope your day has been a happy one and you smiled often.
happyone : )
I usually end my post with a quote,
but am going to change that for a while by ending my posts
with three things that made me smile during the day.
My Three Happy Things  : )
  1.  Finding a lucky penny.
  2. Kenny made me lemon tea in the middle of the morning.
  3. Pizza at Brenda's for supper.

Hi Karen, we have been rather cool the last couple days too.
So sad about the empty farmhouse. It looks lovely.
Hope you enjoy your new book.
Have a good weekend!

Hello, It has been colder lately. I hope apring comes soon. It would be nice if someone would come along and fix up that house. I like your little of three happy things. Pizza would make me happy too. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

I can imagine your disappointment to see your grandmother's house as it is now. I've tried to see the house I grew up in in upstate New York but street view didn't go all the way down the street and I see only 2 or 3 houses. I hate to see old houses neglected too. Makes me want to buy them and restore them. Have a great weekend.

I wish we could move to MD and buy that house you have pictured today. It reminds me somewhat of the house that Carroll's parents lived in for a while. It just needs some TLC. :)

I also wanted to tell you that I loved reading your memories of your grandmother and her house. Brought back so many fond memories I have of growing up in the same house as my parental grandparents.

I like your idea of listing three things that made you happy every day. I have a gratitude journal where the only thing that is entered are five things every day that I have seen as something to be thankful for...or have made me happy. :)

Hope you have a great weekend!

I'm always puzzled by houses that are apparently abandoned around here. There must be a sad story behind ech one.

That house could be made so pretty. What a shame. I am seeing lots of Robins on the road side...they all fly when a car passes and I am so afraid of hitting one. I love to remember both my grandma's houses. One has been replaced now with a shopping center, and the other just sits empty and run down.

I had the same reaction when I saw my grandparents house on Google. It looked different in a lot of ways.

it's a shame how quickly houses can fall apart

That house would certainly do up really nicely, if only someone had the money I guess.
