Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Back home and blogging

A couple of rotting apples still hanging on the tree.
Took the picture last week.

I'm back and ready to get back to blogging.  During my break we drove down to Florence, South Carolina.  Left on Monday and came back Saturday.  Kim and I have been blogging friends for years and since we were passing right by her exit on our way to Florence I just had to stop and meet her.  We met her and her husband at a Chinese restaurant, The Lotus at 1:00.  We arrived first by a few minutes and when she walked in the door we hugged like old friends. : )  So nice to finally meet her and Brett in person.
We had a delicious meal and had our server take a picture of the four of us.
Kim and I brought each other a few goodies.  She knows I like ladybugs and gave me a round box with ladybugs on it and inside were homemade banana chocolate chip muffins which were delicious.  Wasn't long before they were all gone.  Also in the box was a small white vase, a bird, and blue and white boy and girl.  I love everything.  Thanks so much Kim. : )
Meeting Kim was like meeting an old friend and we had a wonderful time and all too soon it was time to say good-bye.

No outside walk for me this morning.  It was 5 degrees, windy, snowing and icy, so first thing this morning I walked 3 miles in the basement.  Before lunch I walked another 1-1/2 miles and now I'm off to walk another 1-1/2 miles before supper after I'm done here.

Back home and back to housework and got a good start on this weeks work.
Just before we left for SC we finished the jigsaw puzzle and this morning I took it apart.  I also started another one.  Just a little one this time and should be finished in no time.
After lunch I got on a few layers of clothing and went outside.  It was 12 degrees and windy so was only out for 1/2 hour.  Shoveled a little snow and put out bird seed and by then my hands were cold.

I'll tell you about our trip to South Carolina and what we did tomorrow.  See you then.
Hope your day was a happy one.

It took me a bit of clicking to get this form to show up. Weird. Anyway, it is cold here in Virginia too. Stay warm!

I've never been to Florence, though I might pass through it if I go to Myrtle Beach this year. I live in Spartanburg, been to Greenville countless times (and was born there), Anderson a little, Columbia a few times, and my brother used to live in Charleston so we went there a lot.

That was such an enjoyable treat, Karen. So very glad you contacted me so that we could meet. Brett and I were just saying that we can hardly believe it's already been a week.
It's gotten colder here, but nowhere near your temperatures. Glad to hear you still got your basement walk in.
Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip.

Yay! So wonderful that you and Kim were able to meet after all these years of being dear blogging friends. Kim reads closely so she knew exactly what to bless you with. Nice pics of you all! Looking forward to finding out more about your trip.

(I am sorry that you missed DA, but happy that you saw no pretty blue lights this week.)

We are cold here, too, but not as cold as there. No snow here, either! It sounds like you had a really good trip! Welcome back!

These temps have been something else, haven't they! We are supposed to get possibly a foot of snow this coming Friday and Saturday. Stay warm!

Kim's blog is on my blog list so I see her often. When I heard of you two meeting, Karen, I just had to come on over and check you out. Nice visit. Hope to see you again. I didn't see a place where I could follow you... wish there was.

That's so fun, that you could meet your blogger friend! Jig saw puzzles remind me of when I was a girl...we often had a big one on the table over Christmas and throughout the winter. We liked to hide the "last piece" so we could be the one to put it in place!

Meeting blogger friends is the BEST thing about blogging. George and I have met about 20-25 different bloggers through the years... AWESOME.

Hugs,

I should have known you and Ken were up to something good while you weren't blogging. How very nice that you and Ken got to spend time with Kim and her hubby.
It's awfully cold here too. MJ

The muffins sound yummy! We don't realize how well we get to know each other through blogging, but I've found meeting someone in person after blogging is much like running into an old friend. It had to warmer in SC, right?
