Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Home again

I'm back home home again after a fun, laughed filled shopping adventure.  Had no time for blogging while I was away.  By the time I got back to the hotel room it was bed time and I feel asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Ken dropped me off at church Thursday morning (Can it really be only two days ago?) and by lunch time we were in Lancaster, PA.  There were 17 of us and we went in the church van and two cars.  After finding our rooms we headed out and shopped at the outlet malls in the afternoon.

That evening we went to the American Music Theatre and saw Deck the Halls.  We had seats in the balcony right in the center - very good seats and we all enjoyed the musical.
Looking up in the foyer of the theatre.
Lights outside the theatre.
Got together back at the hotel and had devotions, talked and then off to bed and day number one was over.

Friday morning one person stayed around the hotel, 9 people stayed to do more shopping at the outlet malls, and 7 of us got in the car and headed out to Amish country.
We were in and out of the car many many times stopping at shops that hit our fancy.
Inside a shop with many different rooms filled with Christmas items.
This pond was outside one of the shops.
Had a delicious lunch at an Amish deli, and then headed back to the hotel.  That evening we went out to a place called Good and Plenty where we all enjoyed another delicious meal.

Then it was back to the hotel and we had an auction and used pretend money. : )  I bid on and got a Christmas tin. After that I gave away the scarves I had knitted.  I had only time to knit 14 of them and there were 17 of us but I of course didn't get one and two of the ladies, Kathy and Kristan said they wouldn't mind waiting for their scarves.
Sorry didn't get any pictures, in fact I didn't take many pictures as all.  Too busy having a good time.  : )
After that it was time for our devotional and then we went back to our rooms to get some much needed sleep.

Up this morning at 6:00 and we were on the road headed home at 8:40.  Of course there was more fun and laughter on the way home too.
It was a fun weekend, where we got to know one other a bit better and one we won't soon forget.  : )

Nice to have been gone but good to be back home.  I missed my walk and look forward to walking in the morning.

No time tonight but will be around to visit you all soon.
A happy day to you.
happyone : )

Hello, sounds like you all had a wonderful trip to Lancaster. I have not been to the outlet stores in years. I have heard of that restaurant Good & Plenty. Was it buffet style? The theatre is pretty and I love the Christmas lights. Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week!

It sounds like a great trip with the ladies! Always wanted to visit Amish country. It's fun getting away, even if just for two days. Have a blessed day.

Glad you had too good a time to take pictures! We had a wondeul visit to Lancaster 2 years ago when the big Quilt Show was on. Skipped the outlet malls, but visited a lot of Amish quilts shops out on farms and in villages.

I bet you walked a lot anyway! You have such a good heart, so relational. It makes Jesus happy.

So glad your trip went well and you had a fantastic time! I like what Pom Pom said, "You have such a good heart, so relational". That is so accurate! MJ

I'm glad you enjoyed our little corner of the world! Yes, you might have driven right past our farm! (It would have been fun to say hello!) Those lights outside the AMT look familiar. I was just thinking how much walking you might've done while shopping at Rockvale...it's a very spread out place!

Glad you had a fun trip. Lancaster is my home town, and although I rarely get there, I enjoy that area.
