It was another rainy morning walk for me today and this time I took along my umbrella. It was 64 degrees.
Stayed around town today and walked up and down all the streets and around the cemeteries and ball park loop.
I came across Joyce walking today. I see her once in a while on her way to Hartman's gas station for her morning cup of coffee. She is George's (the man from yesterday who offered me the raincoat) wife. We walked a few blocks together.
I walked 5.5 miles.
Found a quarter.

Since it was a rainy day and we couldn't work on the cabin we went to Lowe's and checked out a roofing material we were thinking about using on the cabin roof and have decided to go with it. It is corrugated asphalt sheets called Ondura. It comes in a variety of colors and we've chosen the red. You can learn about it HERE.Now we just need a couple of sunny days in a row to put it up.
This afternoon I baked some more chocolate chip cookies for a church senior activity we are going to on Saturday. I'm becoming known as the 'cookie lady' at church. : )
I read some more of my book while I was baking the cookies. I am about half way finished with it but have to finish it by Friday. It's due then and I can't renew it because other people are waiting for it.
It is almost 3:30 and as I look outside it looks like the sun might finally come out - too late in the day to get any cabin work done though.
Guess I'll go sit on the porch for a while, read until supper. Easy tonight - heating up a pizza we made the other week and froze. Then off to church after that.
Hope your day is a happy one.

Could you send some of your rain up here? We are getting pretty dry! We had maybe 20 drops of rain in the last week.
Love the photo of the old wagon.
Here's hoping for some sunny days for you!
Sounds like a great day...love the rain. Awesome wagon in that first photo!
I hope this rainy pattern changes, I am tired of see dreary summer days. You are so kind to volunteer the cookies, you must like to may them. I love that Ansel Adams quote, one of my favorites. Enjoy your day!
I love walking in the rain if it is soft. wow! you have temps. in the sixties, that is a dream for me. Good luck with the roofing, I know you are getting excited with seeing it all come together.
I have decided to name myself as the "cookie lady" as I seem to be baking lots of cookies lately, I am about to go for my walk this evening, and then come in to bake choc. chip for a friend. Baking cookies is one of my favorite things to bake!
Thanks for sharing of your day, I always enjoy reading!.
Enjoy your quiet evening.
Blessings,
Sue
That red roof will look great on your cabin. Things are moving right along! I would love to taste your chocolate chip cookies! Always makes me hungry when I read about you baking!
Great choice for the cabin roof. I love a colored roof!!
How fun that you found a whole quarter on your walk. Gee, if that keeps up, you'll be called "money bags" by the end of the summer ...***smile**.
Enjoy the rest of your day.

I like that Ansel Adams quote. God does have a hand in all our providences. It's fun to pick out things for a house -- now I'll go look at your roofing stuff.
I like the ending quote. And I found a quarter today, too! Business is really picking up. ;)
