Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Fingerprints Day

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
70 degrees this morning and cloudy on my walk today.  Didn't leave until 7:00 this morning cause I got up later than usual.  While walking it stared to drizzle just a bit but it didn't last long.  I made it back home before it started raining.

I walked down past the HT turn off and then on the way back I turned in at the HT road and walked down to here  where I turned around.  Happy Trails is just up the road.
I saw quite a few gold finches along the edge of the road and a deer and her two young ones.  Didn't see any people out walking.

I walked 4.2 miles.

Shorter walk than usual because it was Fingerprints day at church and had to get home so we could leave for that.  Ken and I worked on the stapler machines with four others getting the booklets stapled together.  We are putting together the gospel of Romans in French.  We always have a good time doing this.  Noon we had a break and had chili dogs for lunch provided by a couple in the church, Sandy and Brian.  Then back to work until 2:00.  We put together 4,000 booklets.  : )

The rest of the afternoon Ken went up to HT and got the nail gun working again and put up another sheet of plywood on the cabin.
I was at home making chili (for my mom and dad) and some pizza dough for our supper which we ate on the porch.

We got a good bit of rain in the morning but then the sun came out and we had a nice sunny day.  There is a cool breeze too and it is very pleasant out.

I plan to do some reading and knitting this evening.

Hope your day has been a happy one.

Sounds like another nice day with many accomplishments for you and Ken. Glad to hear the nail gun is back in action.
Still hot and extremely humid here. Can't wait to be outside again. Right now it's mostly just to water my plants and run errands, other than that... thankful for air conditioning.

Good morning, love the images. Sounds like another great day. We are expecting some cooler weather today, I hope they are correct. I assume you will be visiting your Mom soon. Have a happy day and weekend ahead!

Hi Karen, Very nice work on your last few posts. I enjoy the pictures of the corn and seeing how well it is doing. Your corn fields are as good as anything I've seen in Iowa or Nebraska and that is supposed to the corn capitol. :-) Interesting photos down by the library give me a little different view of your town. Like the old houses. Wondered what "fingerprint day" was about? The cabin is looking wonderful. Your baby blankets reminded me of my volunteer work at the hospital ... I am helping in the nursery when nurses or parents can't rock their newborns and need someone to sit in for them. It is a lot of fun and those little babies are so sweet! Thanks for your comments about the Blue Angels. Have a great weekend!

The two of you are always so busy. I see that you are making things for your Mom. Is she at home now. When are you going to visit her?

4000 booklets! That's quite productive! And got the nail gun working -- good for him :) Your weather sounds so lovely and cool.
