Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A sunny working day

Faith, one of Farmer Bill's horses.
✿     ✿     ✿     ✿

It was 48 degrees this morning and sunny when I headed out for my walk.  A little cooler than I thought it would be but very nice.  There were a few low hanging clouds around up on the hill but they didn't stay around for long.

I walked the Farm Loop.  Saw a couple of deer.

Farmer Bill was out getting some work done on the farm now that the sun was out and he stopped to say hi.

The man who bought the big blue building was finally outside and I got to meet him.  His name is Corey and he is making a loft home in the building and plans to rent out the bottom part of it for a woodworking shop.  I also met his dog Gracie who is a very friendly doberman.  I'm glad I met her, so now if I walk by and she's out we are already friends. : )

Once I got back to town I walked around the ball park loop.
I saw Joyce again on her way to get her morning coffee.
Walked 5.5 miles.

First thing when  I got home, I had breakfast and then got the sheets washed and hung out on the line.  Put a chicken meal in the slow cooker so I wouldn't have to make supper when we got home and went up to Happy Trails for the day to get some work done on the cabin.  The weather was perfect, sunny and in the 70's.

I had a painting job to do.  All these roof rafters had to be painted.
Here all are painted and they are going up on the cabin.  Can you see Ken up there?
By the end of the day they were all up.
The part on the cabin in the above picture that is sticking out of the side is a small bump out where the bed will be.  Below is from inside.  The bed will up on a raised platform.  I already have the bed, a white iron one.
We were both tired at the end of day and so nice to get home, shower and have supper ready without having to cook it. : )

After supper we had to go to Lowe's to get some more things for tomorrows work.

So until tomorrow........
Hope your day has been a happy one.

I like her because she smiles at me and means it.

Hi Happyone,

Thanks for stopping by to comment on my post of a few days ago. :-)
Silly question, but why did you need to paint the rafter boards? Will they be showing inside the cabin?

Sure do like your photo of Faith the horse. She's a beauty!

Wow! You guys are making huge progress on the cabin!! Way to go!!
Love the painted rafters.

You have had some cooler temps. in the morning! Here, our morning low has been down to about 55 degrees {some mornings}. Hate to say it, but summer is just zooming by, and before we know it, Fall will be knocking on the door :)

Have a great weekend!

That's so neat! Good job on the painting. It's really coming along! I like the bump-out for the bed. I'm imagining a skylight affair above the head of the bed ... looking at the trees rustling in the darkness and stars as you fall asleep. I'm glad you had some sunshine to work in!
