Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Work continues at HT

Pretty and Pink
✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
We had a good soaking rain last night so didn't have to water any of the gardens.  This morning was a cloudy one and warm at 65 degrees.  A few drops of rain fell on me but that was it.  Even saw the sun once in a while.

Walked down the road toward HT part way and then back to town, one loop around the cemeteries, ball park, and up and down the streets in town.

Lots of rabbits running and hopping around and this one, that just stayed there and let me take his/her picture.  Looks like there lots of good eatin' there. : )
No people about early this morning.
Walked 5.4 miles.

The lumber yard in town was having an outside sale of doors and windows and we went over to see if we could use anything for the cabin.  The sale was yesterday too and all the good stuff must of gone because we didn't see anything for us.

I stayed home this morning and Ken went up to Happy Trails.  He came back home for lunch and after lunch I went back with him to HT.  Yesterday I said the next thing was the floor but there was still a couple other things that needed to be done and we did them today.  Ken put the steps in around back.  He made them with the wood from the deck we took down at the house.
The posts had to be put in also on top of the cement we poured into the tubes.  I love these two posts. They are a tree that Ken cut down a while back.
We had some drizzle once in a while but not enough to keep us from working.  We are pleased with our progress so far.

We had a bite to eat at Annie's here in town and afterwards sat on the porch for a while.  Me knitting and Ken planning the next step on the cabin.

Almost time for ice cream.  : )
Hope your day was a happy one.

Betty and Eileen - No, we don't have a well up at HT.  I think we will just have a 55 gallon drum of water that we will use.  Ken will fix it so it will be hooked up to the sink.  I'm not sure exactly how that all will work.  I'll keep you posted.

That is so exciting, building a cabin. I can just smell the wood now, my grandfather was a carpenter and I always loved seeing the next step of the building, and sitting down just to smell the new wood. You are so blessed to have such a peaceful life. I always enjoy coming here to read.

Good morning, what a pretty flower and the bunny is so cute. With the steps and the flooring being done, it looks like Happy Trails is moving right along. Thanks for explaining the water situation. Have a happy Sunday!

Great pictures today! I love that beautiful flower and the cute little bunny. You are really making a lot of progress on the cabin. I love that you are using the wood from your deck and the tree in your yard and not letting it go to waste. Have a pleasant Sabbath Day and enjoy the coming week.

The progress on the cabin looks good! We actually had a sunny day yesterday which made for a nice walk. No need for water garden watering here either. We turned off our sprinkler system.

Moving right along on the cabin! MJ

I suppose you could use a drum like a cistern and have bottled water to drink and for cooking.
Looks like you are making progress.

Yay for ice cream! It's so exciting that you're building you're own cabin. Can't wait to see the progress as you go along! Those posts are really neat.

That rabbit lives in its own huge salad bowl! At least this time of year.

The cabin is really starting to shape up. What a great retreat that will be for you both.
