Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Rock Crusher up at Happy Trails

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
65 degrees this morning with sun and clouds.  There was a pretty strong wind which kept it cool.

Started my walk by going over to the laundromat and hanging up a poster on the bulletin board inviting kids to come to Bible Time next month at my church.  Then walked over to the post office to drop off a Netflix.

Had a random walk all around town.  Went up Sale Barn Rd and again no cows to be seen.

Didn't see anyone else out walking.

Walked down by the Drane House garden to see how much work has gotten done.  I've wanted to get down there and help again but haven't so far.  Here is what it looks like now.
It was a beautiful morning to be out walking.
Walked 5.4 miles.

In the morning we went up to Happy Trails and unloaded the rock crusher.  It went a lot easier than I thought it would.  Ken hooked the RC to the tractor and very slowly pulled it off the trailer and moved it here to it's new home.
Loaded the tractor back on the trailer and went home for lunch.  Afterwards Ken left with the tractor on the trailer and went to a friends to fill the hole that he dug a couple of weeks ago.

While he was gone I gave the Equinox a good cleaning.  It was very muddy.  It gets muddy when we pick up Cathy.  Her driveway is unpaved and has quite a few mud puddles.

I planted all 48 of the dianthus flowers (thanks Kim : ) for identifying them) in the front yard yesterday afternoon.  I thought they were annuals but come to find out they are perennials which is better.  Late this afternoon we had a good soaking rain so don't have to do any watering again today.

Will enjoy our usual evening at home.
Hope your day as been a happy one.
happyone : )
Love someone who doesn't deserve it.

  1. Another busy day for you. I know those flowers will be beautiful in your yard!

  2. Your pictures are so so nice, Karen. Isn't the blossom on Clover such a pretty one? I've been looking back through some of the older posts. I'm sorry that your mom's bones aren't quite strong enough for her to put her weight on them yet, but so thankful to know that she is not in pain. I know she will be glad to be home again when she is able.

    Have a great evening!

  3. When it comes to getting things accomplished, you and Ken's motto seems to be "where there's a will there's a way". To be honest I couldn't imagine how you two would get that rock crusher moved. I guess I forgot who I was dealing with ;).
You're welcome on the dianthus identification. I have them planted in front of my azaleas and enjoy their short but sweet appearance each spring. When they are done flowering I take my kitchen scissors and chop off the spent flowers. It gives them a neater appearance and also gives me a few more blooms later in the season.
    Great quote today!

  4. That rock crusher is some serious machine! Wow! What workers you and Ken are! The Drane House garden is looking good! If you have some extra energy for car washing, there is one here that is in need. Guess I'll use my gift certificate.:-) Perennials are what I always prefer.:-)

  5. I like the clover blossoms, such a pretty color. Sounds like you had another great walk and busy day. Your flowers will look beautiful! Have a happy Tuesday!

  6. Hi Karen, great job with the rock crusher! Love y'all. MJ

  7. You will love the dianthus when they are all blooming. We planted some this year too. I love that rock crusher! Even if it never worked it would look great in your yard.

  8. What a nice day you had... busy too!
Great job on getting all of the dianthus planted!

    ~Smiles :)
