Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Rainbow

Picture taken Saturday evening from my front porch.

A rainy morning for my walk today and 64 degrees.  Too warm to wear rain gear so just took my umbrella.  It was an on and off gentle rain - good for all plants.

Walked all around town, around the two cemeteries and the ball park loop.  This photo is at the farthest end of one of the cemeteries and the only picture I took on my walk.
Didn't see any one else out this morning, nor did I see any wildlife except for the birds.
Nothing out of the ordinary this morning.
I walked 5.4 miles.
The month of May was a pretty good month for finding coins on my walk.
90 cents - 1 quarter, 5 dimes, 1 nickel and 10 pennies.

I took these pictures of the Robin and Blue Bird on my walk yesterday.  Pictures aren't that great but I like them anyway.

Plans to mow the lawn changed this morning when it was raining out.  So I stayed inside and finally cooked up the rest of the rhubarb and put it in the freezer.

Most of the morning I spent clearing the papers off my desk, shredding, throwing away or putting it where it belongs.

A woman at church asked Ken if he could take a look at her washing machine that was broken so after lunch we went over there.  Unfortunately there is something wrong with the gears that Ken couldn't fix.  The machine is 20 some years old so she has gotten her money's worth out of it.

The sun had come out for a little while so things dried up so when we got back home I was able to get the lawn mowed.  I thought it would rain again as I was mowing but was lucky and got it all done.

So that's been my day so far.
A happy day to you, my friends.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.  : )

Winter - The pizza crust recipe is the one that came with my bread machine and very very easy.  1 cup warm water, 3 cups regular flour (not bread machine flour) 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 Tablespoons olive oil, and 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast.  Just put all the ingredients in the bread machine and 1 1/2 hours later you have some pizza dough. : )

Anyels don't have wings, do they? =D Seraphim and cherubim do. Speaking of wings...that photo of the bluebird on the tombstone with a dove really had me taking a closer look. Very intriguing! Gosh, it's cold here...48°...not sure if the flowers are too happy with it being so cool and rainy. I ran out and picked some irises rather than have them lie on the ground.

I love the shot of the rainbow stretching across the sky and the flag in the foreground. So pretty.
Would love to have the rain you mentioned. I'm doing a lot of after dinner watering which I don't mind, but I think a rainfall always does a much more thorough job.
I did a double take with the bluebird photo. How cool that he landed on that head stone right above the dove.

It has been raining here too. I love the rainbow shot and the robin and bluebird. Sounds like you had a nice walk. Enjoy your Tuesday!

I do love the daily scenery where you live. It's so green and lush. Kansas looks green right now only because of all the rain. We will be going back to brown soon when harvest starts up. Once the wheat is plowed, it will all be dirty brown again. :-)

I always love seeing a rainbow. My favorite one ever had the effect of touching the top of the mountain outside my sister's home as I was driving there for her memorial service. I called it "Ann's Rainbow."

What a beautiful rainbow. I also like the bird pictures you took yesterday! That was so nice of you and Ken to go over and try to help that woman with her broken washing machine. I hope she can afford to get a new one. I always love reading about your days! Have another good one!

The rainbow is beautiful. Sounds like you had another busy day. I never find any money when we are out for our morning walk. We finally got some rain here so we have greened up again.

Thank you for this recipe, I got a bread machine a number of years ago. I used it one time then, we moved and I hadn't used it since. Now I have something to make in it, so I'll probably be using it more. :)
