Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Father's Day

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Honor thy father and mother;
which is the first commandment with a promise;
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest
live long life on the earth.
And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath;
but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:1-4

I've was blessed to have had a wonderful Dad.
He died in 1999.
Me and my Dad
I am blessed also to have a wonderful Step-Dad
who has treated me like his daughter for
the last 46 years of my life.
I couldn't find a picture of me and my step-dad together but
 here he is with my mother
in 2008.
Happy Father's Day to all Dads. : )

A very special Happy Father's Day to you Dad,
and you Daddy in heaven.  : )

God bless you all.

she still missed her daddy sometimes.

Hi Karen, What a nice tribute to your dad and step-dad. And what a neat photo to have ... the one of you and your dad in 1955. A keeper for sure! Over the last couple of posts I especially enjoyed your photos of ... the red winged black bird, a couple of spots along the walk, the giant onion (how sweet was it?), the corn field, floor progress on cabin, and last (but not least) the pic from the road of the corn field with a little bit of interesting lens flare. Cool!

Hi Karen! What a sweet photo of you and your Dad. And what a huge blessing it is to have not just one earthly father, but two! I know that not everyone has a good experience with their Dads, and what a joy that you had two.
My dad is 90 years old, but still is doing pretty well. We spent the evening with him, and cooked dinner for him.
Happy Monday :)

That picture of you and your dad is adorable. Also nice to see a photo of your mom and step dad. I think of your mom often and hope she is progressing in her healing process.

I sometimes think that as we get older, we appreciate our parents more and more. What a nice picture of you and your father.
