Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A day at home for me

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
Had a lovely morning for my walk this morning, it was 62 degrees and sunny.  First went to public works and dropped off the water bill in the slot.  Then continued over to the industrial park and walked around there.
This road here is between the industrial park and the main road through town.  It is a dead end road so I walked up and down it.
Back through town and then around the ball park loop.
After taking two loops around there I walked home.
A few rabbits hopping along and birds were the only wild life I saw and didn't see any people.
Walked 5.4 miles.

Ken was gone by the time I got home.  He went to the auction again.  Today he came home with the kitchen sink. : )  It's porcelain, in great shape and he got it for only $3.  It will be just the thing for our cabin. It will clean up nice and we will change the faucets.
I took a picture of my breakfast this morning just because I thought it looked good and like all the colors in it.  A cup of chocolate shredded wheat with 1/2 cup of strawberries and of course milk.
I stayed home this afternoon while Ken went up to HT.  I had too much to do around the house, though I didn't spend much time doing what I was supposed too.  : )
Called my friend Bernice and we had a great time catching up on all the latest news.  I tell her she should read my blog and start a blog of her own and we could keep in touch that way too.  Mary Jo, you should start a blog too. : )

Spent a little time working in the back yard.   Then sat out on the porch and read.  I'm headed back there now which is where Ken is.  Looking forward to my ice cream later this evening.

Ken got the rest of the bracing done while he was up at HT this afternoon.  Looks like we'll be ready do start on the floor next time we go up there.

Hope your day was a happy one.

I love the pretty daisies. I love strawberries, but I did not know about the chocolate shredded wheat. Do you have a well up at Happy Trails? Enjoy your Saturday!

Chocolate shredded wheat is new to me too. Your breakfast looks almost like a dessert. Yum!
Great price on the kitchen sink and it looks like a nice size.
Daisies will always remind me of my mom. They were her favorite flower. I have some in my garden, but they seem to be getting shaded out.

I'm excited to hear that you will be ready to start on the floor your next trip to HT! That sink that your husband got at the auction for $3 is amazing! What a find! Glad you took the time to catch up with friends. We all need that at times!

I love your breakfast - so healthy and delicious! That is sure a nice sink for only $3. Those auctions you and Ken go to sound like a lot of fun. I love the picture of the Daisies. You live in such a great little town! Enjoy a relaxing weekend!

I am the same way. I will have much to do around here, but somehow find myself distracted with other things.:-) Love those daisies! That's a real bargain for the sink, too!

I love the daisies and big stone in your top photo -- what a nice walk, and how in the world do you avoid seeing any humans? In Oriental, the walkers and their dogs are out every morning, loud, chatty, taking their part of the road from the very middle:) A little challenging for the bikers out there. Glad you had a day at home -- they are the best ones.
