Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Monday

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
On this lovely Monday morning it was 60 degrees and cloudy when I started out on my walk.

Went first to the Laundromat and tacked up a poster on their bulletin board of an upcoming church event.  Then continued my walk all around town including the two cemeteries.

It's been quite a while since Lone Chicken has been gone but at that same house in the yard there are rabbits.  There are a few of them but every time I try to take a picture they run and hide farther back in their hutch.  This time though one of the white ones stayed out front and I got his/her picture.
Then in another yard I saw this black one in the grass.  Looks like someones pet got loose.
I saw Kathy out walking around the cemeteries.  Didn't stop to chat but just waved and said good morning.  She is the only person I saw out.

Found a couple more coins again today.  A dime and a nickel.
Walked 5.2 miles.

We went up to Happy Trails this morning to do some more work on the cabin.  We got the four support beams for the floor put on the back and front of the posts in the morning.
Went and had some lunch and then stopped by a friends house who asked Ken if he could help him with some digging that needs to be done in his yard with the back hoe.  We went by his house to see what the work was and Ken said yes he would be able to do it.  He'll do that later in the week.

We have been going to Lowe's for lumber but we have a lumber yard right here in town so we went there this afternoon to buy the lumber for floor joists.  Turns out the lumber is about $2 cheaper a board than at Lowe's.  So it looks like we will be getting our lumber from there from now on.  Nice that it is so close.  We should have checked it out a lot sooner.  Just assumed that Lowe's would be cheaper.

We got the lumber in our trailer and then transferred it to the back of the truck when we got to HT and Ken backed it right up to the work site.
This is how far we got on the work today.  We were just leaving when it started to rain.  Perfect timing. : )
Home to get cleaned up, and off to Brenda's we went for supper.  No pizza this time, we both got calzones.

So that's been my day.
It's been a good one.
Life is Good.
Hope your day has been a happy one.

Great progress! Getting the foundation square and level is the most important part!

Gee whiz! This is my third attempt to leave a comment! I've "lost" the other two! Great progress on the foundation for your cabin! I've always loved to watch rabbits since I was a child and my grandmother's neighbor had some in a hutch.

It sounds as if both of you had a very busy day. We live in a small town here and Tennessee and often find things cost less at a local store than they do in 'big box' stores.

A busy day for you. I love your top picture, very reminiscent of what backyards were like in my childhood.

The rabbits are always nice to see. Tracy has a rabbit named Sierra. Making good progress on the cabin. How long do you think it will take to complete? Also how is Aunt Ida doing. I hope she is making progress, so she will be able to return home.

Oh how nice that you'll be able to support a local business. John vastly prefers dealing with our local lumberyard, but they don't always have everything a guy needs.

A day with bunnies, a good price on something you need, and a calzone is practically perfect! :)

Nice that you got the price break. 2 bucks is 2 bucks, especially when repeated, and nice to do business locally.
