Another beautiful sunny morning for my walk with a temperature of 56 degrees. I walked over to the industrial park and down at the end of the road I spotted a rabbit. He took off as soon as he saw me and then stopped a good bit away but I was still able to zoom in and get a picture of him.Walked back to town and around the ball park loop and behind the park on the trail along the stream. I think the little purple flowers along the path are violets and they are so pretty.
Continued walking and went around the two cemeteries and then walked down the main street and back home. The lilacs are starting to bloom around town and I came across these growing over the sidewalk eye level which was perfect for stopping to smell them and to take a picture.
I found the first coins of the month - three pennies.
Walked 5.4 miles.

We went to an estate auction in PA about a half hour from our house. There was a little bit of everything but mostly tools and man stuff though some furniture and household stuff was there too. Nothing that caught my eye though. Ken bought a big old pipe wrench what must weight 10 pounds. We left early afternoon and went to Whispering Pines which sells furniture (house and patio), and lots of country decorating items, some craft type stuff and is just a real nice store to walk around and enjoy.
We ordered two chairs for our front porch. We wanted higher chairs for the porch because when we sit there the porch railing is eye level. With the higher chairs we will be able see over the railing. They are very comfortable too and for as much time as we spend on the porch they will get a lot of use. They should be ready in about 3 weeks.
When we got home later this afternoon until I had to go in and cook supper we sat out on the porch and read.
It's been a good day.
Hope your day is a happy one.

I remember by mother's prayers and they have always followed me.
They have clung to me all my life.

Hi Karen- wow, you guys were warmer than us this morning! You will have to post of picture of your new chairs when you get them. They sound great! That would be so fun to be able to sit on the porch and read. I think that one of these days, when we both retire, Charly and I will follow your and Ken's example and move somewhere else. It just gets too hot here, so are thinking of moving back up to Utah where we have some family. It will be a few years from now though, but really when you and Ken moved it got us thinking about it. Then maybe I will have a porch or deck to sit on and read. I love that quote by Abraham Lincoln. You have a really Happy Mother's Day tomorrow! :-)
I have yet to put out our front porch furniture. I bet you're excited to get yours just in time for the summer months. I myself am anxious to sit many an evening on the front porch this coming summer. I think I might get me a rocking chair if I can find a good sturdy one. Enjoy your beautiful weather and the beautiful sites! -Bev
New chairs for the porch will be nice! Do you have a porch swing? I love estate sales for the linens. It's all about the tea towels, doilies, and dresser scarves. Ha! John is all about the tools.
It is a wonderful time of year when the Lilacs begin to bloom.
My husband always seems to find some tools that he just has to have when we go to sales such as this. I'm not as lucky.:-) I am still watching for that first bunny in our yard. Perhaps the fact that we haven't yet put out a garden might have something to do with their absence.:-) Love lilacs!
The smell of the spring lilacs is wonderful - but it'll be awhile yet before ours bloom!
Happy Mother's Day to you! Sounds like you had a great day.. The bunny is cute and I love the lilacs.. Enjoy your Sunday!
Happy Mothers' Day!
Our lilacs here will not be out for another week or so. Yours look beautiful. Enjoy your new chairs!
