Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Wednesday

The same flag from yesterday
☂     ☂     ☂     ☂
Woke up my usual time but didn't feel like getting up so I dozed off for a bit again.  Figured a little extra sleep would be good for my cold.  Left the house at 7:20 and it was 50 degrees and it was just cloudy at first and then it was a misty rain.  Wore my rain pants but not my slicker.  Just put my hood up when it was misty.
Walked all over town up and down all the streets including the cemeteries and ball park loop.  There was a man fishing in the little town pond.

Spotted this medium sized toad just sitting in the parking lot of the cafe in town.
On the way back he was still sitting in the same place.  I prodded him along a bit to the edge of the parking lot.  There were lots lot worms all over the place.  Guess the ground is too wet for them and they come up to the surface.

When I first started out walking I planned on only walking 3 miles and then I was going to go for another 3 miles later in the day, but once I got out there walking I ended up walking my usual 6. miles.

Ken went up to Happy Trails to bring the tractor down to the house and stayed up there a few hours.  Have some work around the yard to do with it.  The tractor makes quick work of digging up unwanted shrubs.

I stayed home and finally got some house cleaning done.

When Ken came home with the tractor he dug up some unwanted shrubs and bushes.  I went outside too and supervised. : )

This evening was my book club day but I didn't go this month.  I didn't like the book so didn't read it.

It rained hard late afternoon and we even heard a few rolls of thunder.  I ended up taking a little nap.  Then woke up had dinner and went to church.

I'm now and about to have some ice cream. : )

A big Thank You to those who said they would send my Mom a card.  How kind and thoughtful you are. : )
Hope your day was a happy one and you smiled often.

I'm behind in blog reading (again). Just getting caught up here and am sorry to hear about your cold. Hope it is gone soon. I would love to send your mom a card. I can email you about it or you can send her address to my email. I'm sure it must be helpful to your dad to have her in a rehab facility that is closer to him. When I read about her current situation I am reminded of the times my mom spent in rehab and how confused she was due to her Alzheimer's. It is so sad to watch and I really feel for you and your family now.
Take care and feel better soon.

Another nice photo of the flag and it sounds like you had a fine day. That ice cream sounds like a good way to end the day.

I am glad that you listen and take care of yourself. Sleep is definitely healing. I hope to get out today and find the perfect card and even "the perfect" stamp. I'm hoping for a flower. =D
