Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A new car

Some hay bales at Farmer Bill's farm
☺     ☺     ☺     ☺
I left the house this morning for my walk at 6:30 and sunrise was at 7:11.  It was a warm 47 degrees, breezy with sun and clouds.  Perfect walking weather.

I enjoyed my walk around the Farm Loop this morning.  It's been a while since I went that route.   One day soon these fields will have corn growing tall.

Neither the cows or the horses were anywhere to be seen but I did see rabbits, ducks, and birds - Killdeer, Robins, and Red Winged Black birds.

I left early enough so I didn't encounter all the cars and school buses along this road which leads back to town.
Once back in town I walked once around the two cemeteries and the ball park.  Saw Kathy again walking around one of the cemeteries.  We commented on the beautiful walking weather today.

I walked 6.5 miles.

No post yesterday because I took the day off from walking, exercising and blogging.  Just needed a day off.

This morning we left in Ken's car,
and came home in our new Equinox.
It looks black but it is really a dark blue
called Velvet Blue.
Ken drove it part way home and I drive it the rest of the way.  It had just started to rain when I pulled in the driveway.  It rides and drives really nice and we are very happy with it. : )  Every one at the dealership was friendly and it was a very pleasant buying experience.

For a while we've been thinking about getting another car and today we finally made our decision and traded Ken's car in for the Equinox.  The Corvette just isn't a very practical car living here.  The truck is a work truck and we will drive around here in the new car.  It's an all wheel drive which you really need here.  I'm keeping my corvette though and will drive it during the non snow months.  I just couldn't give mine up.

I've started reading Outlander and LIKE it.

Hope your Thursday has been a happy day and you smiled often.

Oh, yes! This was a happy day here, and I smiled often! I'm even smiling now thinking about your new car! Such an exciting time when one is able to buy a new car! It looks like you have had some good weather. Here, the wind and rain have begun, and our temperatures are predicted to be below freezing a few nights in the future. Maybe even some snow in higher elevations!

What a lovely treat for you both. A lovely new car to start the year with.
And really nice you are now able to get out and about to walk.

Congrats on the new car. There are several models out there with a similar design ... It seems very popular right now. Re your walk ... Really like that first photo out on the Farm Loop!

I missed you and was wondering if there was an urgent need where your mom is concerned. Let's just say you covered in prayer for whatever the reason! Hugs. Glad to know that you took the day off to buy the new car. It is so pretty.

Have a great weekend, my friend.

Wow, that is a pretty neat car. The Corvette is actually not very practical on small towns, but it all depends on your driving preference. Anyway, it’s nice to know that you are very happy with your purchase, and that everyone at the dealership was friendly. Thanks for sharing this with us. Drive safe!

Looks like a great walk... Hope this upcoming cold front doesn't come to you. AND--I hope this will be our last one til next Fall. We have a freeze warning out for tonight and tomorrow night... Going down into the low 20's here. I'm sure our Spring Flowers and new growth will be damaged --but there's not much we can do about it. We did cover some things --and we brought all of the containers into the garage... It is what it is!!!!

Congrats on the new car. I'm sure it is more practical for you all. At one time in my life, I had a Camaro ---and loved it... I had an 8-track tape player in it and put in extra speakers... It was a 5-speed ---and I loved that car. Felt like a teenager... BUT--it truly wasn't practical. I had to 'grow up' and buy a 'family' car!!!!!! ha ha

Hugs,
Betsy

Excellent choice on your new car! I love that you bought it in a day! Can hardly wait to see the color.

I can see how the new car would be more practical and it is great looking. Win-Win!!

Well shoot if you two aren't going to look like a couple of grown-ups! I don't know how I managed to miss this news thus far, but I'm here to say congrats on the new vehicle. It's going to be a huge blessing for you both I'm thinking.

Nice new car - that's already exciting! No, you can't give up the 'vette - you would have to change your email address, right?

Enjoy the new wheels!
