Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

and the snow continues....

This is what our water feature looks like in the winter.
Good thing we didn't get fish to put in it.
☃     ☃     ☃     ☃
Woke up this morning to more snow coming down and icy conditions so once again no outside morning walk for me.  Did my 6 miles down in the basement.
I finished the puzzle today,
while Ken was in the kitchen making his own chili recipe.  It isn't for us though.  In a couple of weeks after the morning church service is the annual chili contest and he made it for that. (will freeze the chili) He made a chili without beans for our youth pastor because he can't have beans.  Ken did his dishes when he was done but left the stove for me to clean.  I miss having my glass top stove from the last house because it was so easy to clean.  Took the stove apart and gave it a good cleaning.

We watched John Doe last night.  One of those good old movies.  Tonight we will watch an episode of Upstairs Downstairs and have our usual snack of ice cream.  I'm still working on my chocolate chip mint.

Hope all is well in your part of the world and that your day was a happy one.
happyone : )

Beth - Yes, we got more snow.  It's been snowing on and off here for days.   The road you saw cleared in the picture is the main road and yes, they do a good job of keeping it clear.  Snow plows are constantly going back and forth plowing and salting and also putting down gravel.  The other roads are not as clear but we can all get around good.  That is one thing I like about living here.  People know how to live with snow and don't get in a panic when it snows. : )

Eileen - Yes, the lake is frozen and stays frozen all winter.  We know it's spring when it melts. : )  Driving by we usually see quite a lot of people out there ice fishing and as I mentioned we saw 4 snow mobiles out there yesterday.

Glad you have some snow, but sorry about the ice. Just like you, we like it here because people don't panic when it snows, and they know how to handle it.

Wow! You have really had the snow! Those fish would be frozen, wouldn't they? Chili certainly does sound good on a day like today. The puzzle gives one dreams of spring/summer.:-)

Your snow looks very pretty. Snow is fun as long as you have somewhere warm to return to or to watch from. Right now a storm is sending sheets of rain across the garden and small sticks keep hitting the window. A chili would go down well here too.

I think you have much more snow there than we have here.. The Chili sounds delicious, I wish my hubby liked chili too.. I will not make a big pot just for myself.. A movie and ice cream sound like my kind of evening.. I was worried about snow mobiles on the lake but I am glad to hear it is frozen solid.. Love the quote, have a happy day!

Love the Ogden Nash quote as well!! You have more snow than we do but I hesitate to mention it for the fear of bringing on more. But that's okay, it's still the dead of Winter BUT Spring will be here soon :) Love your puzzle!! :)

My favorite part of this post is in one of your reply comments where you said, "People know how to live with snow and don't get in a panic when it snows. : )" That would be so great. I wish you could see Seattle when it snows. The whole city seems to go into panic mode. :-)

It's too bad that you couldn't walk outside, but that snow sure looks pretty!

So many people have posted snow photos today. I feel for all of you. Here it's just misty, foggy or gloomy but no snow so I'm not complaining. The chili sounds good.

It does look a bit frosty in your pond at the moment. I wonder if fish could survive under there. We are still learning all of this, but our fish are still swimming around and we haven't fed them once.
The puzzle turned out so pretty.
Ken is very organized to have his chili ready ahead of time.

Wise quote by Ogden Nash! :-)
Your back yard is so pretty, all covered with snow.
I like your puzzle picture, too.

Fish wouldn't have been a good idea! LOL I love the glass top stove, too many years of cleaning burners and drip pans. Beautiful puzzle!
