Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

A little more snow

Picture from the other morning with the horses.
☃     ☃     ☃     ☃
This morning it was 30 degrees and the slush from yesterday had turned to ice.  There was also some light snow coming down which was covering up the ice so it was a day of walking in the basement.  Got my 6 miles in walking 2 1/2 miles the first time, 1 1/2 miles the second time and 2 miles the third time.

The current jigsaw puzzle is coming along good and should be finished soon.  Ken has been helping with this one.
Ken has had a lot of time to work on his train layout and today he was making some trees.  He glues this green stuff on little stick like branches.  Here are some trees hanging up to dry.
Once again it's been snowing on and off all day.  We left home late this afternoon and went to Walmart to do our food shopping.  I've mentioned that most every time we go there we run into someone we know.  Today it was Pastor Leatherman. : )
On the way home stopped at Brenda's for half price pizza for supper.  I took this picture out of the window at the lake sitting at our table.  Right after I took the picture 4 snow mobiles went flying past.
I'm reading The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin which is the next book club selection and so far I like it a lot.  Will write about it when I finish it.

That's it for today.  Hope your day was happy and bright.

  1. Oh my goodness! The trees in the making brought back a flood of memories. My Hubby had a large train layout,'N' scale. He made trees in exactly the same way, even down to the same containers to hold the product.Oh,but I miss those times spent with him.

  3. Are you expecting much more snow from this storm that is crossing the country? Your roads are nice and clear. Everytime I read about your pizza at Brenda's I'm ready to have some.:-) I just don't get it worked into the menu.:-) Keep warm, and stay safe!

  4. I have been thinking about you and wondering if you are going to be affected by the "monster storm" that is hitting New York. I know you will be warm, cozy and happy no matter what comes!

  5. I was wondering if you got much snow today. Your day sounds about like ours, really. I love the trees that your husband is making! The puzzle is coming right along. Have a wonderful remainder of the week!

  7. I love the first photo of the horse, it is pretty. And is the lake frozen there? We did not receive as much snow as they first called for here, I am happy about that.. Pizza for dinner, it would be my choice too. Another great quote, have a happy Tuesday!

  8. You sure do whip through those puzzles. This one is so pretty with the thatched roof cottage.
How interesting to see how Ken makes the trees. I had no idea so much went into train collecting. What a neat hobby.
Hope you're able to get back outside again soon.
