Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Cemetery

Ken has been working on the next part of his train layout the past week.
Ken has a website with pictures of his layout.  His pictures all have a story behind them too. : ) You can check it out HERE.

Once again this morning it was cold, windy, and snowing so another inside walk for me.
I pass by the backdoor each loop I make.  Took a picture out the window one time as I walked by.
Walked my usual 6 miles.

Haven't done much today.  Sat around watching the snow come down, worked on the puzzle and did some more reading.  I'm reading a book for my book club which  meets next Wednesday evening.  The Third Hill North of Town by Noah Bly.  So far it is a good one.  I'll let you know if I still like it when I'm finished.

After supper we headed over to church.  Ken dropped me off and then he went food shopping at Walmart.  A self defense class was offered from 7 - 9 at church for us women and I thought it was a good idea so I signed up. 22 of us where there and we had fun learning some helpful moves that we can use to protect ourselves.  My friend and neighbor Connie was there too and she gave me a ride home.

When I got home I practiced what I learned on Ken. : )

Hope your day was a happy one.

We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive.
He who is devoid of the power to forgive
is devoid of the power to love.
There is some good in the worst of us
and some evil in the best of us.
When we discover this,
we are less prone to hate our enemies.

Ida - I have a Striiv pedometer which I carry with me at all times which records my steps, miles and a bunch of other things.  You can see one HERE.

Grandma C - The paper weight from yesterday is called a Millefiori.  You can learn about Millefiori HERE.

Someone asked where we got the jigsaw puzzles, sorry but I can't remember who.
The cows, the one we're working on now, and the next two, all came from Walmart.

Ken's train layout is so cool! I love it! Some self-defensive moves are always good to know. A nice relaxing day with not much to do is always good! Enjoy your weekend and stay warm!

That's a good attendance for your self-defense class. I've no knowledge of any of that. Ken has done a great job on that train layout! We have no snow here, though it is cold for where we are.

I must say Ken's train layout is amazing. Who would have thought to include a cemetery but I can see that it works. - Loved the shot out your back door.
Self-defense is a good thing to learn. Oh my you made me laugh about practicing what you learned on Ken.

I hope you haven't disabled Ken from future train layout building :).
Once again I am amazed at what he creates. It looks so realistic. What a neat hobby.
It was me who asked about where you find your puzzles and I thank you for the answer.

Ken's railroad layout is incredible! Enjoyed all the pix. I didn't realize it's sort of modelled after real places and railways.

I enjoyed seeing all that Ken is up to. From his map and overlay, I can see that he has plenty more to do. I loved seeing some of the stories...saw the broken swing and the chubby gal on the ground. Ha!
