Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another cold day

I have a small collection of paper weights.  Some of them were my mother-in-laws.
Ken bought me this one for Christmas one year and it is one of my favorites.

Another day for taking my walk in the basement.  This morning it was minus 2 degrees and still windy.  It was nice to see the sun out though but it made it look deceivingly warm.  Did my usual 6 miles.

Finished up the hat to go along with little slippers and the baby sweater.  You can see a picture of the hat and slippers HERE.  I'm so pleased that I got all three things finished.  I can't wait to see how Krista likes them.

It warmed up to 8 degrees this afternoon and I bundled up and went outside for a while.  Shoveled off the driveway again and then went for a short walk to the library to pick up a book for Ken.  The side streets were packed snow and pretty slippery but the main street through town was just wet.  They put a lot of salt and gravel down.

It was nice to get outside if only for a little while.  The wind has died down a lot too which made it feel not so cold.  When I got back in the house, Ken made me a mug of hot chocolate.  : )

As promised here is a picture of the latest puzzle I'm working on.
Later I'll do some reading and then knit on a scarf that I'm making for myself.  It is bright orange like my sweatshirt and I'm making it to use on my morning walks.  I'm using big needles and just making up a pattern.  I think it is pretty ugly but it is soft and will keep me warm. : )

A happy day to you.
Take time to enjoy the little blessings that come into your day.

That's a very unusual paperweight! Beautiful! That's a pretty scene on the puzzle box. You've done well to complete all the items that go with the sweater! It's very special to receive such a nice gift as you have planned. Stay safe, and keep warm!

I predict that Krista will LOVE the sweater, hat and slippers. What a thoughtful, heartfelt gift.
Brrrr... it makes me shiver just to read about your temperatures. It sure does look pretty though and Ken is sweet to have hot chocolate ready and waiting for you.
The paperweight is very pretty and colorful.
I'm curious to know where you find your puzzles.

Having lost two comments, I am wary of trying again so will just wave and say I enjoyed catching up!

I love all of the colors in your paperweight! I collect them, also! I would like to get a cabinet or something to display them in.

Glad to hear you were able to complete the sweater set! Krista will love them!

It looks as if you have a very pretty puzzle started! Great way to pass some time in the winter.

That hat is gorgeous, I love the 'stalk' on top. I'm sure Krista will love the set.
We have just been to the lake for a walk, a very hot day and I wished I had taken my swimming togs with me.

Brrr...that is cold. We were up to 80 here in Arizona last week - to me that just isn't right! I at least like to have to wear a jacket in the winter! I love your puzzle and your paperweight. I haven't had time to do any puzzles lately - but maybe I will do another one soon! Have a happy weekend!
