Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The snow has stopped

I am thankful for the Post Office and mail delivery to my door.
My Mom and StepDad both worked in the post office.
My mom sorting the mail and my dad delivering the mail.
A lot of people complain but I think the Post Office still does a pretty good job.

I didn't wake up until 7:00 and much to my amazement it wasn't snowing.  Since I started walking later than usual it wasn't dark and before long the sun came out.  So very nice to see a bright blue sky.  It was 26 degrees and no wind so the morning was cold and crisp.  Just beautiful.
I wore my ice grippers but could have gotten by without them.  It was half ice and have dry pavement.

I dropped a book off in the book drop at the library and then walked over to the post office and dropped a Netflix in the mail slot and then continued my walk all over town including the cemeteries with no special way in mind.
Saw lots of deer and rabbit tracks in the snow.

Only saw one person out and she was taking snow off her car.  We both mentioned how pretty the morning was.

Walking down the main street through town I saw something you don't see every day and I just happened to have my camera so I could take a picture.  A truck pulling a trailer with part of an airplane on it.
A couple more pictures I snapped along my walk.
Icicles hanging off the library roof.
And the little town pond frozen over.
Sure was nice being outside walking on this beautiful sunny morning.
I walked 6 miles.

This morning I baked another batch of Welsh cookies for the Drane House cookie sale which is next Saturday.  I'll have to bake another batch later in the week to complete the 5 dozen.  Looking forward to the sale.

Doing some knitting this afternoon.  I now have 3 projects going at the same time.  A scarf, mittens, and baby sweater.

I ordered an extra pair of ice grippers (Yaktrax) so I have a spare for when the ones I have now, break, and Ken can't fix them again.  He already has fixed them twice. They came in the mail today and according to the tracking record they have had quite a trip getting here.  They've been in Indiana, La Vergne TN, Bridgeport NJ, NY,  down the other end of MD and finally here.

I wish you a day of sunshine and happiness.

What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity.
These are but trifles, to be sure;
but, scattered along life's pathway,
the good they do is inconceivable.

Such a nice morning for a walk for you! My hubby retired from the post office, so I make very few remarks about poor service. I leave that up to him.:-) Nice to have the aroma of cookies baking in the house. I have to quickly store mine in the freezer, or they end up elsewhere.:-)

The snow photos and even the icicles are beautiful, and how unusual to see the airplane and the truck. I think the post office gives excellent service and consistent delivery, and I don't even know anyone who works there.

Sunshine and blue sky make everything look so much prettier.

What a pretty day for your walk! The snow is pretty! We did not get much just a little to cover the grass! I love the quote and your images! Have a great day!

Happyone, I didn't realize it was so cold there to make those pretty icicles and the snow! What pretty pictures. We only got a few flakes down this way and it will be warm here today.

Good Morning!
Oh, the snow there is so beautiful!
We should have that much snow here as well, but other than our first little snow fall {that has all but melted off} a few weeks ago, we have been pretty dry.
I finally made my peace with winter this year, and there is no snow***hehe***!
Maybe winter will return with a vengeance later, and it's just testing my resolve to remain cheerful about it :)

Have a blessed Sunday.
