Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A walk in the snow

A fun thing to be thankful for today.

Snowing on the Farm

Today I got to walk in the snow.  It was 26 degrees and just a slight wind.  I wore my winter layer of clothes and stayed nice and warm.  I had on my rain pants and instead of wearing my walking shoes I wore my hiking boots.  They kept my feet nice and dry.

I didn't see any other people out walking.  It really was so nice and peaceful.  I walked up Barn Sale Road again and passed the cows again.  This time they were eating hay.
I walked all the way up Barn Sale and back down again.
I stayed off the main road because the snow plows were out and I would have been in the way.  Walked around town, including the cemeteries and loop by the ball park.
Just a few more pictures along my way.
I enjoyed my walk in the snow.  Only an inch or so of snow, really just a dusting again.  Still waiting for the first good snow.
Walked 6.2 miles.

The guys had a good time fishing yesterday.  They each caught the limit of two fish.  They were down in southern Md in the Chesapeake Bay. Ken didn't bring any fish home though, but gave his away.  We like fish, I'm just not a fan of cooking it at home.

We've had snow flurries on and off all day but nothing came of it.  Even a few peeks of sun.

We went out to the store in the afternoon and when we got back I finished the third book in the Cape Refuge series, River's Edge by Terri Blackstock and it too was very good.  If any of you read it, don't forget to read the afterward too.  Good thoughts there. : )

Did a little more knitting on the baby sweater too.  So far so good. : )

May your day be happy and sunny.

Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more, - a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if They blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.

Hi Happyone, Wow, you got some snow. I enjoy snow now that I'm retired and don't need to get out driving in it. Here, in Seattle, we don't usually get much snow ... maybe two or three times during the winter is about normal. Every once and a while we get a big snow and it shuts almost everything down. The last time we had a big snow the Mayor did not get the streets cleared quickly and got voted out of office. The new Mayor will have the sand trucks out before the snow falls. :-) I am curious ... How did you first get interested in blogging? As for me, I like to share my pictures but I just wasn't happy with Twitter, and some of those other picture sharing websites. You do a fine job with your blog ... thanks for sharing it. John

Looks like you have the same weather we have, just a little snow and a little below freezing. Nice pictures!

The pictures of the snow are really pretty, especially the view of the farm. It is good that you have the proper clothing for enjoying your morning walk in the snow. I'm not fond of preparing fish in the house, either. I've never been able to make it "aroma free.":-) Take care, and stay warm!

Oh, what pretty snow scenes! Your image directly above the snow-capped pumpkins looks like it could have been taken in the conservation area behind our house!

Curious that the footprints in the snow are all heading one direction. Is it a fitness trail?

I'm not one bit surprised that you didn't see anyone else on your walk. You are a hardy soul!!

Nice photos in the snow. Glad Ken is enjoying fishing. I have not fished in probably 25 years!
