I am thankful for the fours seasons and I live in a place that has them all.

We had a touch of snow on Sunday

My sore throat turned into a mild cold but with one of those dry coughs that linger long after the cold is gone. Thanks for all the well wishes. I'm fine now, just have the cough.A few of you had questions about all the kids at Halloween. We bought 225 pieces of candy so no we didn't run out this year. We had just as many kids last year too. We live in a farming community so many kids live away from town so they get driven to town from the surrounding areas.

Around supper time on Saturday our son, David came for a visit. : )
Sunday of course was church day. Tuna Casserole is David's all time favorite meal so I made that for supper.
Monday the three of us went up to Happy Trails for the day and we showed David the changes since the last time he was up in May. Walked on all the roads and trails and walked where there are no trails yet. I took this picture from the future cabin site.
Ken and David. Isn't that a neat old tree behind them?
Monday evening we drove over to Morgantown, WV and had a delicious dinner at Outback. David left for home later that evening. It was just wonderful having him here and we look forward to his next visit.
Yesterday after voting and walking we went up to HT and spent the day there again. Ken cleared and filled in a spot for the little trailer behind the tractor barn.
I cleared up some deadfall and am making a fence of sorts with it. I'd like to to that all around the property line so I can tell where our land is more easily.
This tree grew with a rock wedged in it so tightly that it won't come out now.

This morning it was 52 degrees and cloudy. I first walked to the post office to drop some mail in the mail slot and then walked around the Farm Loop.
It has been quite a while since I walked the FL and it was so nice to get around there once again. I'll be going that way for a while, till it gets too dark in the mornings again.
Some of my horse friends stopped eating for a moment to look at me.
I took the farm road through Farmer Marvin's farm and stopped to pet his three horses and saw the bull in the barn. Didn't pet him but did talk to him. : ) The road leads to one of the cemeteries and I walked around there, then around the ball park loop and home.
I saw a few geese V formations flying high in the sky and a couple of rabbits, but no people.
I walked 6.3 miles.

Spending the day at home today. Haven't been around to visit these last few days and I'm off to see you all now.
A happy day to you.

Snow already?! I'm glad you had a nice visit with your son. Is it hunting season around you? I was noticing the orange jackets you all were wearing. Have a lovely evening :)
What a wonderful treat to have a visit from your son!
I too love living in a place where we enjoy all four seasons :)
I am glad you are feeling better.. No snow here, thank God! I am not ready for it yet! Sounds like a nice visit with your son.. I love the horses. A great quote, thanks for sharing. Enjoy your evening..
The dusting of snow is pretty. I'm glad you had that nice visit with your son. Tuna casserole is a favorite of mine too. Delicious comfort food to me. The spot where your cabin will be is lovely!
What a pleasant surprise to be visited by your son! I know you had a nice time with him there. We missed the snow here, though the top of Mt. LeConte in the Smokies reported 22 inches of snow by Saturday afternoon. The Park was closed. I hope that cough doesn't linger long!
The view from the cabin to be looks breathtaking!
So glad to hear it was your son visiting you and not that you were sick in bed as I had imagined! I'll bet David was quite impressed with all you and Ken have been getting done at HT.
Cute picture of the horses greeting you. :)

That sounds like a good couple of days, other than the sore throat. I am glad you both got to see your son. I was thinking of you recently and thinking that you must miss your grandkids. Glad to see everyone wearing the blaze orange.
I'm with you - I love four seasons! I don't think I would be as happy in Florida, for example.
Colds and Coughs are not fun so I hope you recover quickly. - So glad you got to spend some nice quality time with your son. That looks like an amazing place to build a cabin. We are suppose to get the dreaded "snow" next week. I am so NOT looking forward to that. I like the 4 season but winter is on the bottom of the list as far as I'm concerned.
