Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Walk in three

 ✼     ✼     ✼     ✼
I'm thankful for such a beautiful and colorful world that God has made for us.  Sunrises, sunsets, rainbows, green grass, white clouds, blue sky, and all the many colors of flowers just to name a few.

It was a rainy morning and since I still have that cough didn't think it wise to walk in the damp air.  So I broke my walk down into three parts and walked in the basement.  2 miles early morning, 2 miles before lunch and planned to walk 2 miles in the afternoon or evening.  I think I'll be doing that this winter on those days when I just can't walk.  Anyway back to today - By lunch time the sun was shining and when we got home at 3:30 I walked the last 2.3 miles outside.
I walked up the main road through town and around the two cemeteries.  On the way home I stopped in at the library and got a audio book just in case it is raining again tomorrow morning.  Took the picture standing in one of the cemeteries.

Remember when we went to pick up the new gas tank for the church bus?  Well the new one is installed now and we went to pick up the bus and return it to church.  Ken drove the bus and I followed in the truck.  Here we are at a light.
These next two pictures are for you Betsy.  This is the front of our church.
The back and the door we enter by.
Like I said, not very impressive to look at but it sure is filled with God's love. : )

From there we went to Walmart  and Shop and Save and got our food shopping done.
Now it's time to go and start supper.  Pasta and a salad this evening.

Hope your day has been a happy one and you smiled often.

At times our own light goes out
and is rekindled by a spark from another person.
Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude
of those who have lighted the flame within us.

Comment Replies:
Karen - It seems here that it is always hunting season for something.  We wear orange when we are at Happy Trails as a matter of routine.
Jeanne - We plan on taking a few trees down so we will have a better view, but yes it is a great view.

  1. Pretty burning bush leaves, and what a view from the cemetery. We haven't seen blue sky like that in several days now. That's a nice-looking church you attend. Remember Matthew 18:20. :)

Enjoy your evening and hope the cough is starting to diminish.

  2. Hi Happyone, Enjoyed reading your last two posts. As always the walks sound interesting. Sorry to hear about your cold … take it easy and get feeling better soon. Otherwise, it sounded like you had a nice visit from your son. Your place up at HT sure looks nice. It seems like it could almost be like a hobby, having a place to go and having little projects to do. It also seems nice to have such a pretty countryside to walk through. It looks like most of your walks are on country roads and so I wonder if you have much car traffic to deal with? Hope you got a little more light in the early mornings this week. Get well soon. Thank you for stopping by my blog and your kind comments. John

  3. I think you were wise to do some of your walking in the basement, although I am glad you could get the last part done outside. I really like the picture you got from the cemetery -- such a beautiful scene.

  5. Ahhh--thanks for showing us the picture of your church... Like you said, what is on the inside (love of God) is much more important than the outside.. BUT--it does look like a very inviting church... Glad you found it.

Glad you were able to do some walking in the basement....I'm sure you will be doing that some this winter.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  10. Your second photo makes me think of "amber waves of grain". The blue sky with the barn in the distance is so pretty.
Glad you were able to get your walk in despite the weather and the sore throat. Hope you are feeling all better real soon.
    Your church looks very welcoming.

  12. Walking in damp weather probably wouldn't be good for a cold so I'm glad you stayed inside.
Your church looks just fine and being filled with God's love is the best part.
