Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Trail progress

Outhouse by the Drane House
You can see it to the left of the house in yesterday's picture.

This morning it continued to be warm with a temperature of 61 degrees.  It was cloudy and VERY windy.  I almost lost my ball cap a couple of times.

Another random walk all over the place.  Thought about walking the farm loop but thought I'd get blown away by the wind up on the open road. : )

Saw one other person walking his dog around the loop behind the ball park.  A lot of crows around again this morning.

I walked 6.3 miles.

After breakfast Ken went up to Happy Trails and I stayed home to get some things done around the house.

Ken came home for lunch and after we ate I went back with him to HT and we spent the afternoon up there.  It was mostly cloudy and we even had a little bit of drizzle but the sun was out for awhile too.

While Ken cut some trees down I went for walk.  Our pond that was dry is once again filled with water. It is a favorite spot for the deer.  We have a game camera on a tree and have had fun watching the deer come to the pond.  Some just drink but others get right in the water.   It is about 3 feet deep in the middle.
When Ken was done cutting down the little trees he put them in the chipper and I loaded up my little cart and took the chips and put them on the trail.  The light color chips is today's progress.
I've probably said this before but Fall is my favorite time up at HT and really enjoyed being up there.

Hope your day as been a happy one.

Gorgeous color in that photo at the beginning of the blog. We don't have anything like that around here. That would be very interesting to watch what comes along on that game camera. You are always keeping busy!

I like the pretty colored leaves. It was windy here too. Sounds like you still had a nice walk. The trail is coming along nicely.. Have a happy Wednesday.

Hi Happyone, That is a nice area there at H T. Leaves are falling and cooler weather can't be too far behind. I wondered about the Drane House ... is it a historical place? John

Hi there, Love seeing your progress at HT. The paths around your property are going to be so nice... Love the wood chips... The pond is great too.. Can you show any of your deer in the pond pictures to us??? That would be neat --having a camera there...

Hugs,
Betsy

Charming little outhouse, I know it's an outhouse but I still think it has charm.
Sounds and looks like the trails are coming along nicely. Such pretty leaves.

Oh yes, easy to see why fall is your favorite at HT. So pretty! The pond looks especially pretty with the autumn leaves all around. How neat to keep track of the deer that way.
