Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

To the dentist

❤     ❤     ❤     ❤
It was a rainy morning and 55 degrees.  Donned my rain pants and yellow slicker and out the door I went.  It was a misty kind of rain and it rained on and off all during my walk.

I haven't walked a regular route in quite a while and again this walk was all over the place.  Around town and the cemeteries and the ball park loop.

I had to watch where I walked in places because there were a million worms all over the place.  That happens when we have lots of rain.

I didn't see anyone at all out.  It was a dark and dreary morning but still I was happy to be out walking.  : )

I walked 6.2 miles.
I found a nickel.

I wasn't looking forward to this morning because it was that time again when I had to visit the dentist.  I said a little prayer that all would go well and IT DID.  No problems at all.  I'm set for another six months.  : )  I came home with my little bag of goodies which contained a toothbrush, floss, toothpaste, and lip balm.  And in case some of you are wondering, yes, I did bring them chocolate chip cookies.
Ken had his turn right after me and he too had a great check up.

It was recommended that we get a water pic water flosser so we went out and bought one.  I just know I'm going to have water all over the bathroom when I try to use it tonight.  This is supposed to replace regular flossing which I do EVERY day.  Any one use a water pic and how do you like it?

This afternoon I baked some pumpkin bread to take along to the ladies dinner at the Herrington Manor on Friday.  The recipe makes three loaves, so we have one to eat, one to freeze and one for Friday.

That's been my day so far.
A happy day to you.

No, my friend, I am not drunk.
It is that I have been to the dentist and I need not go again for six months.
It is a beautiful thought.

John - Yes, The Drane House is an historic building.  If you go to the bottom of the page there is a link which will tell you about it.
Betsy - The videos of the deer are on Ken's laptop so I don't have them handy to publish here.

I feel badly about those poor, foolish worms that wander off the turf, and on to a large patch of pavement that is un-survivable. (Did I just make up that word?) I try not to step on them, and I can't help but wonder what it looks like to someone who observes my gait from a distance.

Congrats on the good report from the Dentist! And those are nice fall pics, too!

Hi Happyone, Thank you for the link to info on the Drane House. Very interesting ... I enjoy history and maybe that is just because I'm pretty historic myself. Ha ha. Just kidding! Sure good to hear that your dental visit went so well. I have used a water pic and, yes, I do think it is a good thing. I was convinced of its value when, after a meal, brushed my teeth ... thinking I did a good job, and then turned on the water pic to see a few more tiny particles go down the drain. It seems to really clean out the places the brush just can't get to. Your fall pictures are great. Have a good day! John

Hi, Great Fall colors up there.... I despise going to the dentist also --and still floss every day the old-fashioned way (dental floss).... ha...

Sorry you can't show us the deer... That would be great---watching them!!!!

Your pumpkin bread sounds terrific.
Hugs,
Betsy

Well hello my friend! So long since I have been able to be capable to see you daily like I like. I only have 4 more doses of rad, tomorrow, Mon, Tue and WEDNESDAY, HOORAY! As long as I nap once a day and take the meds and use the aloe vera gel they suggests on the boobage area 3 times a day, I am a happy gal and camper, even tho I really don't like camping. Motel-ing or Hotel-ing are fun but not camping. I gave up camping when my babies came along. nuff said. I loved how you said you walked so many miles and that you found a nickel. funnnnnn.

Ha Ha... I can relate to that quote too. Thumbs up for the good dental reports for you and Ken.
I like the lip balm idea in your goody bag. Ours is similar except we receive a plastic toothbrush cover in place of the balm. Only problem with that is we are amassing quite a collection of those covers and can't seem to use them fast enough.
I hope you'll report back on how you like the water pik. I used one in my teens, but have been a flosser now for years.

Look at all those beautiful red leaves! Glad you got a good check up at the dentist. We do not have one of those water flossers but I know someone who does and they said it really helped their gums to stay healthy, better than with regular flossing. I keep thinking I should buy one, but I never have.

So good that you had great reports at the Dentist. The Water Pick thing seems to be something dentists are pushing now as they want me to try one out too. Loved your fall foliage above.
