Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Another fine day : )

❤     ❤     ❤     ❤
I didn't get to walk yesterday because I woke up late and there was no time before church but it was a nice sunny afternoon and we spent it up at Happy Trails doing a little work but mostly just walking around on the trails.  It was quiet and peaceful.  So thankful that we have this little corner of happiness. : )
A couple of pictures from yesterday while there.

Back to my normal morning walk today.  A chilly morning with a temperature of 35 degrees and there was a light frost in places.  A pretty sunrise as you can see by the top picture, but then the clouds took over and I didn't see the sun again.

First went to the post office and put a letter down the mail slot.  Then walked down towards HT on the main road, turned around, then back and around town.  Walked around the cemeteries too which are a block from each other and a block or so from the main road in town.  Met up with Lisa at the one cemetery and we stopped for a chat again.  When she left I walked around the graves again.  It's always sad to see the gravestone of a baby and I wonder why he died.
Walked around the ball park loop also and then up past the library and home.
I walked 6.2 miles.

Ken is up at Happy Trails today and I wanted to go with him but just have too much to do around the house so I'll be home today.  I hope to get a lot done and maybe read some this afternoon.
It is Monday and half price pizza day at Brenda's.  Maybe that will be dinner tonight.

Hope your day is sunny and bright.

  1. Your sunrise was glorious indeed.
They didn't have the kind of medicine back then that they have for infants now.
My mom came from a family of 13 and only 8 survived to adulthood.

  4. That barn picture is the best. I think there's a new computer wallpaper in my future! You should be a photo volunteer at Findagrave.com. I have found my great grandparents' graves on there, which I might not have ever seen had I not looked them up. Well, but then again, like you need something else to do! Have a lovely evening :)

  5. WOW! That first photo is stunning. I love how the barn and silo are right in the center of the sunrise.
I think you could win an award with that one.
I hope you had a nice productive day with a little reading time too.

  9. It's always sad to see that someone lost their baby, but I appreciate the dignity they showed by the nice stone marker.

Excellent fall pics here... that was the Headbangers' theme this week.

  12. It was pretty cool where I was camping Monday but I think it was warmer than 35 degrees F. Now, Sunday morning, a different story - quite chilly and windy up in the mountains. I would guess just above freezing. But I was snug in my sleeping bag (until I got up).
