Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A rainy, misty day

Pond behind the Drane House
❤     ❤     ❤     ❤
51 degrees and a rainy morning today for my walk.  It was a very light rain though, more of a misty rain.  Glad I decided to wear my rain pants and slicker and I stayed nice and dry.

I walked down the main road here towards HT and back and then around town.  There was no one else out on this early Saturday morning.  It was just me and the crows and there were a lot of them about this morning.  A car passed by occasionally.

I like these rainy quiet mornings.
I walked 6.2 miles
Yesterday I reached a new personal best on my Striiv, 26,513 steps

It's been a misty rainy day all day and it was nice to just stay inside and do a little reading.  We turned on the pellet stove for a little while and got it nice and cozy inside.  In fact it got too warm and we had to turn it off.

Not a very nice day for a BBQ but they had tables set up in the garage and had the food all along one side and I set my cucumber salad down with the rest of the food.  In spite of the weather we had a nice time.

Hope your day has been a happy one.
Smile - it makes you happy.

I loved autumn,
the one season of the year that God seemed to have put there
just for the beauty of it.

Beautiful autumn photo up top. I dont mind walking in that light misty rain either, so nice to get home and shake off the chill.

26000+ steps eh!!! That is a LOT of steps for a day! I've ordered a 'Fit-bit' so I can try to at least do a little. I'm very impressed. Congratulations!

I encountered difficulty commenting on your post on Friday. Not a good connection where I was, and it wouldn't allow me to open your blog.:-(

Congratulations on that personal best! Great accomplishment!

We have also had many crows about, though this afternoon it was a real pleasure to see some blue birds outside the window! The neighbor has blue bird houses.

I love the color your picture shows there. Autumn is truly a season of beauty!

Hello Happyone, Thank you for sharing your positive and encouraging blog. I just happened to find you thanks to a kind comment you left on Ruth's Photo Blog. Looking over several of your posts I found lots of good photography and many positive, often spiritually encouraging, thoughts. Your blog is a welcome find. Kind regards, John

Glad they had an 'inside' place to have your BBQ... Sorry about the weather --but it looks like you all had a great time regardless.

We've had rain-rain-rain here this week... BUT--we needed it since it has been so dry. But, like you, it's been quite warm. We still have the house opened and the fans on. I'm ready for some Fall Weather... ha

Hugs,
Betsy

What a glorious fall shot. I love this time of year too, that quote perfectly describes it.
So sorry about a rainy day for the picnic but it sounds like it went off just fine inspite of the bad weather. We had rain on Saturday too. A huge downpour but it's nice today.
