Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Kayaking with friends

Standing Alone
 ❤     ❤     ❤     ❤
This morning there were some low hanging clouds in some places and it was clear in other places.  The temperature was 45 degrees and my walk this morning was random.

Today I learned from Rebecca, that her mother Lena, and Farmer Marvin are sister and brother which of course makes him her uncle.  I've known all three of them but never but them all together before.

I saw a couple of rabbits and chipmunks run across the road.

I walked 6.4 miles.
Forgot to mention yesterday that I found two pennies - one heads up and one tails up.  This morning I found another penny - heads up.

It was a sunny day and warmed up nicely to near 70 degrees.  A perfect day to go kayaking.  We went back to the Savage River Reservoir and this time met some friends there.
We got there first and I was paddling around when Dave and Becky arrived.
Before they arrived I spotted a Kildeer at the shore line
and a duck.  Also saw a heron fly by but wasn't able to get a picture.
We were all surprised to see how low the water was.
I stayed back here to take a picture of the three of them.  I was the odd one out with my pink kayak with the three of them having yellow ones.
Here is Dave have a relaxing time with his feet up. : )
Such a nice time we had paddling around together for about 2 1/2 hours.  We worked up quite an appetite and after kayaking we went to Uno's for lunch.
It was a lovely day. : )

Hope your Saturday was a happy one too.

Three Thankful Things Today
  1. Kayaking with friends
  2. Being out on the water on such a beautiful day
  3. Lunch out with friends
A few of you wondered what Ken is going to do with a 30 foot radio tower.  No, he isn't into ham radios.  He just couldn't pass it up for only $2 and said, "You never know when you just might need a 30 foot tower." : )

Karen~ I have missed coming to visit every day! I hope this week will be a little less busy and I'll be able to "drop by" more often! We are having heavy rains and flooding here in Phoenix again today, but it looks clear and sunny where you are. Sounds like a truly lovely day~ See you again soon.

It looks like Fall is blooming! What a gorgeous place you have to paddle. I can't wait to do the same around here. The Rocky Gorge Reservoir is very close to me and it's beautiful. Can't wIt to see it with the fall colors. How wonderful that you have friends to paddle with!

You are having some pretty fall colors already. Trees are just starting to turn here.
Thank you so much for your prayers for my family and for me.

Such a lovely series of photos! For the longest time I had issues with popup windows in comments on Blogger! Thank you so much for changing your comments to embedded from the popup window. Had I known sooner I would have commented then. Your photos have made my day. Sending you a warm hug.

Beautiful images. The fall colours seem to be enhanced by a fog.

Your trees are looking a lot like autumn! I miss chipmunks, haven't seen any where we live now. We still see the occasional bunny.
