Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Home all day

One of Farmer Bill's garages
✼     ✼     ✼     ✼
A nice crisp morning after all the rain.  49 degrees with some sun and clouds.  Walked to the library to drop off a book in the book drop and then walked the Farm Loop and around town.

In one of the fields was a whole slew of geese and I walked passed the family of killdeer who ran away from me instead of flying.  I always get a kick out of them running like that.   Down by the barn that I've taken quite a few pictures of, I saw a deer and her two young ones.  I was quite a ways away when I took the picture because knew they would run if I got any closer.
The building where the tractor dealer used to be out on the main road has had a For Lease sign on it since just after the holidays.  Walking past it this morning I noticed the sign is gone and there is some work going on in the building.  I wonder what will be opening up there.  Hope it's something good.

Nice being outside walking this morning.
I walked 6.2 miles.

I went outside for a while to do a little more weeding and to see how Ken was getting on with the patio.  He has the step up to the patio finished.  I'll wait until you can see more progress before posting a picture.  Ken is planning a small water feature incorporated in there too.

I've been inside this afternoon puttering about the house.  I'm going to start reading The Purchase by Linda Spalding which is the next book club selection.

It's been pretty chilly all day.  We sat on the porch eating lunch and I had to wear a sweatshirt.
Hope your day is a happy one.

I wondered why somebody didn't do anything.
Then realized, I am somebody.

Three Thankful Things Today
  1.  My camera
  2. Spotting those three deer
  3. That God hears our prayers
Sunday morning at church the service had just started when Pastor Leatherman smiled and said, "Look who's here."  We all turned around and saw that Mr Harvey was arriving.
Thank you all for you prayers!! : )  He is still not at home and had to go back to the rehab center after church and has a ways to go yet but how good it was to see him in church.  : )

Oh, hooray for Mr. Harvey returning to church. All those prayers seem to be paying off.
A sweatshirt? Really? That's hard for me to imagine right now, although we have cooled to the low 80s so the cold front must be making it's way this way. Three cheers for that :).
Now that is a pretty and patriotic garage farmer Bill has and the deer are so cute looking at you. I enlarged the photo and took a closer peek.
Anxious to see that patio.

Looks like Farmer Bill is getting a jump on the Christmas season ;-) So glad to hear that Mr. Harvey is getting better ~ truly an answer to prayer. Enjoy the rest of the week!

Super cute barn... love the rustic star on it!!
How fun to run across the deer too. Are the deer there, black tail??? They look a little smaller and more cinnamon colored than the mule deer that we have; they are so pretty.

Sounds like the patio project is moving right along....yay!!!

It was hot here this morning, then the clouds rolled in, it rained and cooled right off. Such a blessed day.

Happy that your friend was able to make it to services. I'm sure it lifted his spirits.

Have a nice evening.

That is a faith booster! So glad that Mr. Harvey was well enough to get to church. The deer do look about ready to spring. Cooler weather makes it nice for Ken building the deck I would imagine. It's cool and overcast here today.

I love seeing deer. they are so graceful.

Interesting how much cooler it is there. It never gets cool enough for a sweatshirt in summer here. Art

Oh, that is a darling picture of the deer! I love that little one stretching its neck to look around the pole at you! :)

Your encounter with the killdeer reminds me of the Gambel's quail we would see when we lived in Arizona. It took an awful bit of a fright to get those birds to fly instead of walk across the road!

Great quote today, and very glad to hear about Mr. Harvey!

I missed this post somehow... Anyhow---we saw 3 deer also this week (near our front yard). Ours was a Mama and 2 fawns... They are such gorgeous animals --but we don't want them eating our flowers...

Sounds like your patio will be fantastic... A Water feature, huh??? WOW--I'd love that....

Have a great day.. I posted a "Rain or Sun" blog today.. Interesting scenic drive!!!
Hugs,
