Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

I got mail

The Drane House
♡     ♡     ♡     ♡
62 degrees this morning with clouds and fog.  About 3 miles into my walk it rained for about 5 minutes which cooled me off.  The sun made an appearance once in a while too.

Dropped off a Netlix in the post office slot and then walked the Farm Loop.  Quite a few fields have corn starting to grow and it is the tallest in this field.
I spotted a deer hopping around in some long grasses.  I guess it leaped more than hopped but you would think it had springs on its feet.  It was quiet walking with fields on both sides of me listening to all the different birds singing and chirping away.  They always seem happy to me.

The horses Faith and Grace were down near the fence by the water and when I got near they walked over and I got to pet them.

Some more pretty weeds along the road.
When I got back to the main road I turned left instead of right and walked down the main road out of town for just a bit, then turned around and when I got back in town turned down by the  small industrial park along this road.
Then back to my neighborhood and walked on the road behind my house and then back home.
I walked 6.1 miles.

I was outside walking around the yard late this morning and went to get the mail.  Inside the mailbox was a box with my name on it. : )  I was happy to find a book, a bookmark and some homemade cookies from my blogger friend Karen, from Karen's Ramblings.  The cookies were all wrapped so carefully and they all got here without getting broken.  Oh and they are delicious!!  I've already eaten two of them. : )
Thank you so much Karen.  That was so nice of you to think of me. : )
All her cookies look professionally made.  Karen makes it all look so easy. Her cookies are all little works of art.  Somehow it seems a shame to eat them.

The book was one that Karen reviewed on her blog and I mentioned that it sounded good and that I would put in on my list.  Next thing I know she said she would mail the book to me.  So nice of her and to get the extra goodies too.  Super nice.  Blogging friends are so special.

Thanks again Karen.

After lunch we went out and made stopped in a bunch of different places doing errands.

Later after supper Ken is going to start up the tractor again and take up a little more sod in the back yard.  I'll keep you guessing what we are doing now until tomorrow.

So that's it for today.  Hope your day has been a happy one.

Karen is a great blogging friend!

I'm not sure I've ever been able to see a deer leap through a field. Your walk is truly a wonderful opportunity for you to see all of God's Creation!

If those cookies taste as good as they look, they must taste heavenly. I really like your first photo. It's a beautiful scene.
